On Friday, September 12, 2003, WALLACE HERMAN GROVES age 81 of Baltimore, MD, formerly of Glenville, W. Va, departed this life at 2:35 A.M., at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston, W. Va, following an extended illness. Born February 12, 1922 in Gilmer Co., son of the late Odie and Hollie Belnap Groves. Mr. Groves was united in marriage to Mary Jean Summers Groves on May 9, 1948 who survives. Surviving two daughters Leza Jean Kohl of Baltimore, MD, Melissa Wallace Reece of Olympia, WA. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Monday, September 15, 2003, at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., Glenville, W. Va with the Rev. Robert Nicholas officiating.

On June 16, 2008, JOHN H. "Johnny" SKIPPER, JR., 51, of New Freedom, PA, formerly of Maryland Line. Husband of Crystal A. (Propst) Skipper. Son of Betty L. (Calp) Skipper and the late John H. Skipper, Sr. Brother of Kathy L. Smedley-Karoll, K. Joanne Martin, and Blaine J. Skipper. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will begin at 10 am Friday, at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 Second St., New Freedom, PA. Interment in St. Abraham's Cemetery, Beckleysville. Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm. On April 18, 2006, Robert Lee Rodowski, 46, of Seven Valleys, PA. Husband of Michele D. (nee Ipsaro) Rodowski, father to Mitchell D. and Jessie R. Rodowski, son of Helen B. Rodowski and the late Paul J. Rodowski, brother to Theresa Vyskocil and Michael Rodowski, uncle to three nieces and one nephew. He is also survived by close family friends. He was employed by Mac Machine in Baltimore. A memorial service will be held at 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 23, 2006 from the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 Second Street, New Freedom, PA. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday at the mortuary.

On August 4, 2003, JOHN FRANCIS GREEN, passed away. He was born May 17, 1961 in Baltimore, MD. Survived by parents Francis "Mickey" and Patricia (Dixon) Green of Green Valley, AZ; sister Carol Green of Tuscon and brother Christopher Green of PA; many other relatives and friends also survive. John was a painter, writer, graphic artist and interior designer. He worked for PACT, SHANTI, SAAF and The GMHP. He was the original voice of "Dr. X." He also was a public speaker on AIDS/HIV awareness.

On February 24, 2003, LESTER P. BROWN, JR. of White Hall, MD. Survived by his wife Diane P. (Dillard) Brown; two sons Lester P. Brown, III and Dennis M. Brown and his father Lester P. Brown, Sr. His son Brian E. Brown died Tuesday, February 25, 2003. Arrangements have been revised. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 1 at 1 P.M. from the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 Second St., New Freedom, PA. Burial is in Stablers United Methodist Cemetery.
