Intrasquad games don't have much intrigue. The environment is so controlled that it really doesn't allow for it. And Tuesday's instrasquad game -- which most notably gave starters Jason Hammel, Jair Jurrjens and Steve Johnson their scheduled innings on the off day -- presented few surprises. The main question about Tuesday's intrasquad was whether it would be able to be played between the Florida storm clouds. But as Hammel and Jurrjens' days neared an end, the next round of pitchers warming up caught my eye. The pitcher warming up next to Johnson looked unfamiliar.

Several chances for early-morning sightings of the International Space Station will arise over the next week in Maryland. In each case, the space station appears brighter than a star but much further than a plane, zipping across the dark sky, so long as clouds don't block it. Thursday at about 6:30 a.m., the ISS will rise from the southwest, moving toward the northeast horizon until about 6:36 a.m. The bright star near where the station first...

The Orioles play in Bradenton again this afternoon against the Pittsburgh Pirates - that's the 723rd game between the two teams this spring (I'm only slightly exaggerating). Here's the Orioles' lineup: Alexi Casilla 6, Lew Ford 8, Conor Jackson 3, Steve Pearce DH, Russ Canzler 9, Danny Valencia 5, Yamaico Navarro 4, L.J. Hoes 7, Luis Exposito 2. Jake Arrieta 1. And the Pirates' lineup: Sterling Marte 8, Jose Tabata 9, Neil Walker 4, Pedro Alvarez 5, Gaby Sanchez 3, Felix Pie 7, Clint Barmes 6, Michael McKenry 2, Locke 1. Yes, the Pirates are forfeiting the DH to have their pitchers hit - the NL prerogative when spring games are played in NL parks.

Chris Tillman was supposed to start this afternoon's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, but now Miguel Gonzalez will. Tillman apparently first dealt with some abdominal soreness about a week ago, had it treated and believed it had gone away. But he felt it again this weekend and the Orioles decided to take it easy with the 24-year-old right-hander . So he is a scratch and Gonzalez -- who was scheduled to pitch anyway -- will start. I'm sure some of you are concerned that Tillman is dealing with a previously unreported injury that could linger.

Baltimore Police found a man dead of an apparent homicide on Friday morning in an industrial, half-vacant section of the Carrollton Ridge neighborhood. The man was found at 6:07 a.m. in a field behind a string of abandoned railroad cars next to some tracks just off the 600 block of S. Fulton Ave. Bits of crime scene tape remained attached to a rusted railroad car that had marked off the crime scene, where, at noon, blood could be seen still pooled on the ground. No description of the victim's age, injuries or manner of death was available.
