Arriving aboard the Pride of Baltimore II and hailed by a cannon blast from the Constellation, Michael Phelps and Maryland's other Olympic athletes were celebrated in true local style Monday afternoon by elected officials and an Inner Harbor crowd. "I hope that you cherish this honor as part of your memories of this summer, and as a reminder that you will always have a home - let me say that one more time, especially for Mr. Phelps - you will always have a home here in Baltimore," said Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake as she gave keys to the city to the famously Las Vegas-loving swimmer and the other Olympic athletes.

For now, Michael Phelps is doing what any 27-year-old who has won more medals than any Olympian ever - and earned millions along the way - would probably do. Vacation a little bit. (You've probably seen pictures of him in Las Vegas and the Maldives .) Golf. (Of course, his golf game is the subject of a reality television show.) Date a model. ( You've read all about Megan Rossee by now.) And, because he's from Baltimore, eat crabs. “Pretty much I'm just living the retirement life,” Phelps said Monday after a ceremony/pep rally at Under Armour headquarters.

Bob Bowman, who coached Michael Phelps through his record-breaking Olympic career, won a title himself Friday when he was named Coach of the Year by his professional association. The American Swimming Coaches Association award, given at a banquet in Las Vegas Friday night, puts Bowman on track to break a record himself: It is his fifth time winning the annual award, voted on by fellow coaches, tying him with colleagues Mark Schubert and Eddie Reese. "It's special since it's the last time I'll be working with Michael," Bowman said of Phelps, who retired from competitive swimming after the London Games.

Ever since the two appeared arm in arm on the red carpet at the London Olympics, people have wondered: Who, exactly, is Michael Phelps' new girlfriend? She hasn't been talking with the news media until now. But in an exclusive interview with The Sun, Megan Rossee seems sporty, competitive and quick to laugh at herself. And, yes, she's also a willowy blond model who loves shoes, sweets and marathon viewings of "Sex and the City. " Though it's been widely reported in the media that Rossee is a cocktail waitress, that makes her laugh because she says she worked at Hollywood's Blok nightclub for only about a month to help pay the bills.

A year ago, Oriol Servia said he should be Baltimore's favorite driver because his name, Oriol, means Oriole in Spanish. He felt he was Baltimore's own. "Ever since I arrived in this country, people say, 'Oh, Oriol, like the cookie,' and I always say, 'No, Oriol, like the bird, like the Baltimore Orioles.'" Now, back for the second time for Sunday's IZOD IndyCar Series Grand Prix of Baltimore, it seems Baltimore is his favorite stop on the IndyCar...

A gold-medal-winning Olympic swimmer is going to be appearing this weekend at the Maryland State Fair. No, sigh, it's not Michael Phelps. It's Matt Grevers, who's no slouch when it comes to prowess in the pool. And hey, let's face it, Phelps would be mobbed. With Grevers, you've got an excellent chance at face-time with a certified champion -- he won two golds in London, in the 100-meter backstroke and the 400-meter medley relay. And Grevers won't be the only Olympian at the fair.

When you become the most decorated Olympian of all time what do you do -- head to Disneyland? Not Michael Phelps. He's going to Atlantic City. Phelps will be headlining a pool party at Harrah's Resort on Sept. 22. And from the looks of photos of past "Pool After Dark" parties on the resort's website , these things can get pretty wild. You think you can handle hanging with the king of chlorine? Well, all you have to do is head over to the New Jersey boardwalk and pony up $20 -- that's what admission costs.
