Tristan Wilds - the actor who played Michael Lee on "The Wire" and who now performs as Mack Wilds - is not the only "Wire" alum to recently pursue a music career. Jermaine Crawford (the New York City-based actor who played Michael's classmate, Duquan "Dukie" Weems) is now a 21-year-old R&B singer. Crawford quietly released a five-song effort, "Underdog," last October. (Download it here .) And you can watch his video for the Janet Jackson-inspired single, "Janet," above.

Even though Tristan Wilds' performance as Michael Lee in seasons 4 and 5 of The Wire is probably one of my favorite things about the entire series, I can't quite bring myself to watch the reboot of 90210, which stars Wilds as Dixon Mills. In an interview, Wilds discusses the fact that the his character on 90210 is going to be a star lacrosse player. "[Lacrosse] encompasses the best of all sports," Wilds said. "Hockey, football, baseball, basketball." (For more, go to baltimoresun.com/lifeofkings)

A father was convicted and his son acquitted by separate Howard County juries hearing the same case - one last week, one yesterday - in the carjacking of a former University of Maryland pharmacology instructor outside his Columbia home in July. Michael Lee Sr.'s conviction last week on armed carjacking, armed robbery, theft, handgun and related charges was followed yesterday by not guilty findings for his son, 19-year-old Michael Lee Jr. The younger Lee was accused of holding a gun to Patson Nhamburo outside his home in the 8900 block of Tamar Drive during the early-morning hours July 26 and taking the keys to Nhamburo's Chrysler Concord while his 44-year-old father acted as lookout nearby, according to testimony.
