Myer Jr.; brother of Carol Grigora; uncle of Vincent Grigora and Monica Grigora Wirth; great-uncle of Leah Grigora and Natalie Wirth . Also survived by cousin Patricia Otto and many friends. Michael Francis Connor, a retired Social Security Administration claims authorizer and a World War II infantryman, died Saturday of a rare disease, amyloidosis, at Gilchrist Hospice Care. The longtime Parkville resident was 85. Mr. Connor was born at home on Allegheny Avenue in Towson. After graduating from Towson Catholic High School in 1941, he worked at Black & Decker Corp. before being drafted into the Army in 1943. Mr. Connor served as a rifleman with the 29th Infantry Division in Europe, until being discharged in 1946.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Joseph's Church-Texas on Monday, August 1, at 11:30 A.M. Interment Druid Ridge Cemetery.

Hook; father of Michael Francis Hook (Grace) of Watkinsville, GA, Cynthia Ann Canigiani (Glenn) of Ocean City and Teresa Lynn Sanders of Ocean City; brother of Leroy J. Hook, Jr. of Catonsville and Verna Siford of York, PA. Mr. Hook was an auto insurance adjuster with Calvert Cavalier Insurance Co. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Ocean City, MD. On Saturday, April 29 at 1:30 PM. Interment will be private at a later date.

County police say they broke up a ring of people responsible for distributing marijuana in northern Anne Arundel County with arrests in Baltimore and Harmans on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.Police said yesterday they arrested five people and seized 2 pounds of marijuana, $900 and three cars, capping a four-month investigation.The lead investigator, Detective Richard Alban, said authorities learned that the marijuana came from Baltimore and was distributed in the Hanover area.Those arrested were:* Gary Patrick Allen, 32, of the 1100 block of Chesapeake Mobile Home Court in Hanover.

On Sunday, July 3, 2005, in Salem, VA, THOMAS MICHAEL GUNTHER, JR., a retired Physical Science Administrator at Edgewood Arsenal. Mr. Gunther, whose great-grandfather, Michael, arrived in Baltimore from Bavaria before the Civil War, was born in the city in 1918. He was a graduate of Loyola High School and of Loyola College (Class of 1939). During the Second World War, he worked for the Naval Hydrographic Office in Washington, D.C. and served in the Pacific. In May 1946, National Geographic published an illustrated article on his ship's servicing of Arctic airbases.

ISSUE: Eight Anne Arundel County public schools were locked down for several hours Wednesday after a man wanted on charges of attempted murder showed up at a high school in women's clothing and asked to see a female student, authorities said. The man, thought by police to be Antonio Moore, 20, of Brooklyn Park, drew the suspicion of the resource officer stationed at North County High School in Ferndale, who left him to find the girl. The girl told him that she was not expecting a visitor.
