On January 29, 2007, ROBERT PHILIP ROSEN of Dover, DE, beloved husband of Patricia Ann Allen Rosen (nee Abell); devoted father of Marc Rosen, Linda Brager and step father of Mark Allen, Christopher Allen, Michael Allen, James Allen, John Allen, Lawrence Allen, and Dana Allen; loving brother of Ellie McCullough and the late Leonard Rosen. Also survived by 15 grandchildren and one great-grandson. A service will be held in New Covenant Church of God, Bel Air, MD on Friday, February 2, 2007 at 1:30 P.M.

Donald C. Allen, a retired corporate lawyer who was a founder of the Baltimore law firm of Allen, Thiebolt and Alexander, died Thursday at his home in Jackson, Wyo., of pancreatic cancer. He was 82. The son of Donald E. Allen, a meat inspector, and Alice Diediker Allen, a homemaker, Donald Clinton Allen, the first of six children, was born and raised in Spokane, Wash., where he graduated in 1950 from John Rogers High School. Mr. Allen entered Princeton University in 1950 and withdrew three years later.

A 41-year-old Baltimore County man was shot and seriously wounded in the Johnston Square neighborhood early Tuesday evening, police said. Police said detectives have identified a person of interest. Police had earlier reported that the man was dead, but have since revised their account to say he was "gravely injured. " Officers responded to reports of gunshots at 5:20 p.m. in the 1100 block of Homewood Ave., near East Chase Street. Michael Anthony Allen, of the 8200 block of Laurel Dr. in Parkville had sustained at least one wound to his upper body, police said.

YORK, Pa. - Michael Allen had asked his mother three times whether he could join her on a trip to the grocery store on July 21, 1969. "Just wait here," Allen testified yesterday that his mother told him. "It won't take long. I'll be right back." Standing on the porch of his aunt's house in this southern Pennsylvania factory town, he watched as his mother climbed into the backseat of a white Cadillac with her parents, younger sister and brother-in-law. It was the last time the 9-year-old saw Lillie Belle Allen alive.

Samuel M. Wright, 84, Bethlehem Steel worker Samuel M. Wright, a retired Bethlehem Steel worker who faithfully visited convalescing members of his church for years until illness struck, died Sunday at Northwest Hospital Center. He had been stricken by pneumonia, kidney failure and a heart attack. He was 84. An active member of Faith Baptist Church in East Baltimore, Mr. Wright continued his nursing home rounds even after moving to Randallstown about 16 years ago. He began taking public transportation after he stopped driving last year.

YORK, Pa. - An all-white jury weighing murder charges against former Mayor Charlie Robertson and two other white men in the 1969 race riot killing of a black woman acquitted Robertson last night while finding the two accused shooters guilty of second-degree murder. Robertson wept quietly and accepted hugs from his attorneys moments after the jury foreman read out his innocent verdicts. Defendant Robert N. Messersmith shook his head wryly and Gregory H. Neff remained stone-faced as the foreman first pronounced them innocent of first-degree murder and then guilty of the second-degree charge.
