But in last night's 43-24 victory at No. 10 Chesapeake, the No. 7 Bruins (6-1) showed balance throughout the lineup.Up top, Broadneck, leading 20-18 with five bouts left, got pins from Joe Yancy (152 pounds), Andy Chambliss (171) and Arto Vartanian (heavyweight, who improved to 14-1 with his 13th pin) and a technical fall from Rob Peck (160). The Bruins had won two of the first three bouts for a 12-6 lead, with pins by Matt Ormsby (112)

Navy's 3-1 men's track contingent won the Colonial Athletic Association Championship last Saturday, posting 174 points. George Mason finished second with 161.Senior Rob Sehnert led the way by winning both the shot put (55- 3/4) and the discus (163-11). Senior Bryant Clevanger finished second in both events. Classmate Matt Howard won firstplace in the hammer throw with a toss of 179-4. BOWIE -- Pinch hitter Ed Fully's run-scoring double in the seventh inning capped a three-run rally and lifted the Binghamton Mets past the Bowie Baysox, 3-2, before a season-high crowd of 12,483 last night at Prince George's County Stadium.Jay Payton led off the inning for the Mets (9-11) with home run over the left-center-field wall. With two out and Frank Jacobs on first, Chris Saunders doubled down the left-field line, scoring Jacobs.Mark Fuller and Brent Knackert limited Bowie (7-15) to one hit over the final 4 2/3 innings.

BOWIE -- Scott McClain's ninth-inning grounder knocked in the winning run, pushing the Bowie Baysox past the Reading Phillies, 3-2, in a crucial Eastern League game last night.The victory helped Bowie's drive for the Southern Division playoffs. First-place Reading leads the Baysox by four games with five to play and the second-place Trenton Thunder by one.Trenton finishes with a tough series at Canton-Akron while Bowie plays at last-place Harrisburg. The top two teams in each division make the playoffs.

CANTON, Ohio -- Jose Millares broke an 0-for-21 slump with a two-run homer that gave the Bowie Baysox the lead for good and Jeffrey Hammonds hit a homer that didn't count last night in a 7-2 Eastern League win over the Canton-Akron Indians.Millares' first homer in 121 at-bats this season, on an 0-2 pitch from Steve Kline (1-2), gave the Baysox a 4-2 lead. Hammonds made it 5-2 with an RBI double down the left-field line in the seventh.In Hammonds' final at-bat in the ninth, with two runners aboard, he drove a pitch to deep center.
