On February 15, 2003, MARY ELLEN HARPER (nee McCabe), age 93, former member of the Maryland PEO; beloved wife of the late John S. Harper. Services and Interment private.

Mary Ellen Bay, a landscape architect and flower arranger, died July 3 at Carroll Hospital Center after suffering a coronary embolism. She was 74. Mary Ellen Denny, the daughter of farmers, was born and raised in Wye Mills on the Eastern Shore. She was a graduate of Centreville High School. She studied engineering for 31/2 years at the University of Maryland, College Park, and earned a bachelor's degree in fine arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art . Mrs. Bay was a certified interior and landscape designer, and worked for more than 40 years as a freelance design consultant on gardens, residential additions and interiors.

On January 17, 2007, MARY ELLEN CLEMENTS, died at Sinai Hospital. Service and interment private. Arrangements by the family owned Mitchell-Wiedefeld Funeral Home Inc.

Joseph Edmund Besche, a Chesapeake Bay charter fishing captain who had owned the Middle River Inn, died of pneumonia April 1 at St. Joseph Medical Center. The Mays Chapel Village resident was 77. Born in Baltimore and raised in the Wyman Park neighborhood, he was a graduate of St. Francis Prep School in Spring Grove, Pa. He attended Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg. He joined the family business, 4 Besche Brothers, a Light Street home furnishings firm that had been co-founded by his father.

On May 1, 2006, MARY ELLEN ( nee Kikola) SKOPINSKI beloved wife of Walter Skopinski, dearest mother of Justin and Michael Skopinski, dear daughter of Stephen and Kathleen Kikola, loving sister of Catherine Krug, Stephanie Talino and Madeline Churchman. On May 16, 2009, MARY ELLEN (nee McFaul) REICHERT, beloved wife of Robert J. Reichert, devoted mother of John R. Reichert and his wife Sharon, loving grandmother of Allison M. Reichert, sister of William McFaul and Kathleen Cordner. Also survived by several nieces and nephews; niece of Marie Beard. Funeral from the E.F. Lassahn Funeral Home (Kingsville) 11750 Belair Road on Tuesday at 10 A.M. Visiting Sunday and Monday 2 to 4 P.M and 7 to 9 P.M. Entombment Gardens of Faith Cemetery. On August 26, 2008, E. PERSHING, age 90 of Aberdeen, survived by wife Mary Ellen (Stark) Volkart and daughters Anne V. Wood of Havre de Grace and Barbara E.V. Brooks of Fayetteville, NC, also survived by granddaughter, Mary Anne Brooks of Fayetteville, NC. Friends may call at the family owned Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home, 333 S. Parke St., Aberdeen, on Friday, August 29 from 1-3pm and 5-8pm. Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 201 Mt. Royal Ave., Aberdeen, on Saturday, August 30 at 11am.

On December 27, 2007, MARY ELLEN (nee Kerns) formerly of East Baltimore and Dundalk, and for the last three years was a resident at The Booth II Assisted Living Facility in Rising Sun, MD. Mary was survived by many loving relatives and friends. A visitation will be held at the family owned JOSEPH N. ZANNINO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 263 S. Conkling Street (at Gough) on SUNDAY 3-5 and 7-9PM. A Vigil Service on Sunday at 7:30PM. Graveside Service on Monday, 11AM at Holy Rosary Cemetery.

She is also survived by two brothers, Walter Sr., and Benjamin McLarin Sr.; one sister Helen Johnson; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
