A Baltimore man was sentenced Tuesday to 25 years in prison in the armed robbery of two men trying to make a deposit at a Clarksville bank in September 2007. Howard County Circuit Judge Dennis M. Sweeney ordered Antoine Skipwith to serve five years of probation after his release. After an initial jury trial ended in a mistrial, Skipwith, 32, of the 1700 block of Luzerne Ave. pleaded guilty to armed robbery, use of a handgun in commission of a felony, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle and trying to elude police.

A Mass of Christian burial for Joseph A. Marsiglia Jr., a partner in United Automotive Electrical Inc., will be offered at 10 a.m. today at the Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Cathedral and Mulberry streets.Mr. Marsiglia, who was 83, died Tuesday after a heart attack at his home in Baldwin.Known as Mr. Joe, he and a son started United Automotive Electrical in 1975. He was a partner in the General Automotive Electrical Co. from 1959, when it started, until 1975. Earlier, he and his father operated a confectionery store at Howard and Madison streets.

Joseph J. Marsiglia, a retired data processing manager for the state Department of Human Resources and World War II veteran who was wounded on Guam, died of heart disease Saturday at St. Agnes HealthCare. He was 81. Mr. Marsiglia retired in 1981 from the department's data processing administration. He also worked for nearly 14 years for the Anne Arundel County government, for which he managed the data processing department, and earlier was a credit manager and data processing manager for the former Equitable Trust Co. for five years.

Gilbert D. Marsiglia, president of Gilbert D. Marsiglia & Co. Inc., was installed as the 1998 president of the Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors during ceremonies Tuesday at the Baltimore Country Club. He replaces Gayle Briscoe, a vice president of Otis Warren Real Estate Services.Named the 1997 Realtor of the Year by the 3,000-member trade association, Marsiglia has served on several committees, ranging from arbitration to education to lock box task force. He is a life member of the Real Estate Million Dollar Association.

Marsiglia to head Coordinating Center health care group The Coordinating Center, a nonprofit organization based in Millersville, has named Carol A. Marsiglia director of the new ACCESS Group. The organization offers consultation, technical assistance and training in the community care of people with the most challenging health-care needs. Marsiglia has been associated with the Coordinating Center for more than 15 years, primarily working in care management, the organization's core service for people with complex medical needs and disabilities.

Marsiglia is elected president of state Realtors association Gilbert D. Marsiglia was elected the 2004 president of the Maryland Association of Realtors last week at the group's annual convention in Ocean City. Marsiglia has been licensed since 1966 and began his career with the Russell T. Baker firm headquartered in Baltimore and later purchased by Coldwell Banker. He became a broker in 1972 and founded Gilbert D. Marsiglia & Co. the following year. The firm has 32 agents and employees.
