A woman returned to her Parkville home one day this month and found a man inside her home, according to a Baltimore County police report. At around 12 a.m. March 10, the burglar was discovered in the hallway of the home, located in the 8800 block of Wolverton Road, police said. The victim ran to a neighbor's house and later told police that the intruder fled out of the rear of the house into the woods toward Oakleigh Road, police said. Nothing was stolen, but the rear door was destroyed.

Male victim found suspect in second floor closet. Suspect fled. Police apprehended suspect. Headphones and sunglasses stolen. Fard Muhammed Lucas, 27, of Earl Levy Court in Laurel charged with first-, third-and fourth-degree burglary, theft, malicious destruction of property and possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia.

Harford County government has received top ratings from the nation's three major municipal bond rating agencies in advance of a $40 million bond sale scheduled for March 11. Standard & Poor's Ratings Services informed the county Tuesday it had upgraded Harford's rating to AAA from AA+, according to a county announcement. Moody's Investors Service and Fitch Ratings had earlier rated the bonds at Aaa and AAA, respectively, ratings they have placed on Harford bonds since 2010. Harford County Executive David R. Craig and his top fiscal advisers met with all three agencies in New York over two days in January.

Bandbox and Ilikecandy won their respective races Monday at Laurel Park. Bandbox took the $250,000 General George Handicap (G3), giving the horse its first win in nearly three years. Under Xavier Perez , Bandbox, who is trained by Rodney Jenkins , completed the 7-furlong distance in 1:24.18 and won by four lengths. Monday's 10-race card was the first since last Wednesday. A powerful storm dumped 17 inches of snow and nearly an inch of ice at the Central Maryland track last week which caused Laurel officials to cancel live racing last week.

Laurel Police arrested four people, two from Laurel, after finding146 grams of marijuana in a vehicle during a traffic stop around 1:18 a.m. Monday in the 900 block of Washington Boulevard. Laurel residents Lawratu Bah, 20, and Joyce Williams, 20; and Bria Archie, 20, of Bowie, and Matthew Bizzell, 24, of Louisville, Ky., all occupants of the vehicle, were arrested. Police also found drug paraphernalia on those in the vehicle. Police said the marijuana recovered had a street value of $1,500.

Baltimore officials are threatening to cancel the city's contract with Berman's Towing over allegations that the company is adding "excessive charges" to its bills. "Please be advised that these unauthorized actions must immediately cease," Timothy Krus, the city's purchasing agent, wrote in a letter received Friday by Berman's Towing. The company is one of the city's "medallion" towing firms that respond to police calls for service. Krus wrote that the company and its two subsidiaries, Berman's Towing 2 and Berman's Towing 4, have been "found to be in default of the terms" of its contract with the city that allows it to tow vehicles when called by the police.

The U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center, U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground plans to conduct several large detonations beginning on or about March 11 and ending on or about March 22. These detonations are likely to generate sound and/or vibration outside the installation's boundaries. If weather conditions are not favorable in minimizing noise off of the installation, firing will be rescheduled. The U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center, a test center under the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command, provides test and test support services for authorized customers, within the Department of Defense and outside the DoD, including government and non-government organizations, both foreign and domestic.

Navy women's lacrosse coach Cindy Timchal has announced the team's schedule for the 2013 season, which includes a home game against two-time defending national champion Northwestern. Navy will play six Patriot League contests and 17 games overall. The Midshipmen, who have won three straight Patriot League titles and advanced to three consecutive NCAA tournaments, will open the season  Feb. 10 against Winthrop. The Navy-Winthrop contest will be one of 11 home games at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
