A 17-year-old girl was in critical but stable condition yesterday after she was injured in a car accident early Monday on Gorsuch Road outside Westminster, authorities said.Vicki N. Bonsall of the 700 block of Tailings Drive was flown by state MedEvac helicopter to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore after the 12: 01 a.m. accident.According to police, she was traveling south on Gorsuch Road, south of Shiloh Road, when she lost control of her 1993 Mazda along a curve, struck an embankment and overturned.

A Manchester man waived a bail review hearing in District Court yesterday on charges of shooting his roommate when a fight erupted during a card game Saturday, court records show.Javier Francisco Ruelas Pliego, 32, of the 4200 block of Hanover Pike was charged with first-degree assault, reckless endangerment and use of a handgun in a crime of violence.He was being held at the Carroll County Detention Center in lieu of $75,000 bail.The shooting victim, Benitez Ramirez, 30, of the 4200 block of Hanover Pike was taken by ambulance after the 2: 30 a.m. incident to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he was in serious but stable condition, a hospital spokeswoman said yesterday.

Thieves took six director's chairs from the Manchester Road farm where Universal Studios Inc. has been shooting part of the new movie "For Richer or Poorer."An employee of the studio reported the theft June 4 to state police at the Westminster barracks, but said it probably occurred before May 31.Six wooden chairs with green canvas covers, valued at $330, were taken from a Ford van at the site.Universal, which has set up headquarters in Glen Burnie for the movie, was shooting scenes last month at a farm in the 2000 block of Manchester Road and in downtown Westminster.
