Units were out two hours.Westminster: Firefighters responded at 10: 55 p.m. Saturday to a carbon monoxide detector in the 1500 block of Old Manchester Road. Units were out 30 minutes.Westminster: Firefighters responded at 12: 57 a.m. Saturday to a fire alarm at 25 S. Cranberry Road.

A Manchester woman and her niece were killed Wednesday night after their vehicle and another collided on Route 27 south of Route 30, Maryland State Police said yesterday. Shirley Bosley, 70, and Tammy Reindollar, 34, both of the 2800 block of Manchester Road, died after Bosley attempted to turn left into a driveway at 9:47 p.m. while traveling north on Route 27. Bosley's 1997 Subaru Legacy station wagon hit a 1987 Corvette driven by Kathleen McIntyre, 46, who was traveling south on Route 27. McIntyre, of the 3200 block of Manchester Road, was traveling with two male teens, 16 and 14. The older of the two was McIntyre's son. No one in the Corvette was wearing seat belts, police said.

Thieves took six director's chairs from the Manchester Road farm where Universal Studios Inc. has been shooting part of the new movie "For Richer or Poorer."An employee of the studio reported the theft June 4 to state police at the Westminster barracks, but said it probably occurred before May 31.Six wooden chairs with green canvas covers, valued at $330, were taken from a Ford van at the site.Universal, which has set up headquarters in Glen Burnie for the movie, was shooting scenes last month at a farm in the 2000 block of Manchester Road and in downtown Westminster.

Five people were flown to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore after two car crashes Thursday and Friday in the Westminster area.Four people, including an 8-year-old boy, were injured in a two-car collision on Route 482 at Old Manchester Road about noon Friday.Laura Ann Sanders, 18, of the 4300 block of Downhill Terrace, Hampstead, was driving a Geo Storm west on Route 482 when her car and a Chevrolet Corsica collided. The Corsica, driven by Sheila A. Robertson, 46, of the 2700 block of Sykesville Road, was headed north on Old Manchester Road, state police said.
