A 20-year-old man remains in critical condition after he was stabbed Monday night in West Baltimore, according to police. An officer responded to a report of a shooting at the intersection of Rosedale and Presstman streets at 8:14 p.m., police said. The officer found the victim with a severe horizontal laceration in his abdominal area, police said. The man was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment, police said.

Baltimore County police are investigating an incident in which an unknown assailant shot a man in the leg Friday night. The shooting took place in the area of Landmark Court and Hopkins Creek Lane in Essex, according to a statement released by police. Officers dispatched to the scene shortly before 9 p.m. found the victim with at least one gunshot wound to the leg. Police said they have no information on a suspect or a motive. The victim is being treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The Harford County Sheriff's Office has charged a homeless man with murder in the death of a 71-year-old Edgewood resident. Quintin Everett Demby, 46, was arrested Tuesday at a store in Edgewood and was being held at the Harford County Detention Center without bail. He faces first-degree murder and assault charges in the killing of 71-year-old Joseph Carpintieri, who was found dead May 2 at his home in the 1400 block of St. Mary's Court. Carpintieri died of multiple traumatic injuries, complicated by cardiovascular disease, police said.

Baltimore County police are investigating a homicide in Cockeysville that took place early Wednesday. An unidentified man was killed in the 9800 block of Williamson Lane, off Cockeysville Road, police said. Police received a call for service at about 4 a.m. for a man lying unconscious outside his home. The man had sustained several blows to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a police spokesman. Investigators are waiting the results of an autopsy. Police say the man was originally from Mexico and had no local family.

A man was fatally shot in Northeast Baltimore on Monday night, the 80th homicide of 2013, police said. The man was found shot multiple times in the 3100 block of Cliftmont Avenue in the Belair-Edison neighborhood about 8:15 p.m., police said. He was pronounced dead at a hospital about 45 minutes later. It is the third homicide in that neighborhood this year. Homicide detectives are investigating the case, but a suspect and motive could not immediately be determined, police said.

Baltimore City Police say a man died Sunday morning of multiple gunshot wounds, and they're seeking the public's help to gather more information. Police said they were called to the 1800 block of Ruxton Avenue at about 11:19 a.m., and found an adult male who had been shot multiple times in his upper body. The victim, who was not identified, was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died. Homicide detectives are investigating. Anyone with information may call 410-396-2100.

A Pasadena man missing since he left home last Monday night has been found dead near Fairview Beach Park, Anne Arundel County police said Sunday. The body of Thomas Herron, 46, was discovered in a wooded area at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, the apparent victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Lt. J.D. Batten said the body had been sent to the medical examiner's office, but that family members said Herron had been despondent and had left the house carrying a firearm. Known for walking his dogs in the neighborhood, he had left his animals behind Monday night.
