Police are looking for a man who robbed the Second National Federal Savings Bank in Severna Park Friday afternoon.Police said a man walked into the bank, in the 700 block of Gov. Ritchie Highway, at 12:30 p.m. and asked a teller for a loan application.The man followed the teller to the manager's office, where he brandished a handgun and forced them to open the vault. He filled a bag with money and forced the bank employees into a back room before leaving.Police said he was last seen getting into a silver or gray car.He was described as a black male, 40 to 45 years old, 5 feet 10, with a medium build and wearing a gray suit with a green tie and a dress shirt.

A man who robbed the Carrollton Bank of Baltimore in the 1700 block of E. Joppa Road in Baynesville yesterday fit the description of a man police have linked to 23 bank robberies in the city and Baltimore and Anne Arundel counties.The man, who wore a white baseball cap and dark jacket, gave a teller a note demanding money. He did not display a weapon. After being given a stack of bills in a white bank bag that also contained an exploding dye pack, the man ran out the front door.The pack exploded on the parking lot, staining many bills with an orange dye. Baltimore County police said the man recovered some of the money and drove off in a gray 1986 Chevrolet Nova reported stolen earlier in the day in Baltimore.

A man who robbed a woman early today died from a bullet wound when the gun he used in the robbery discharged as he shoved it into his pants during his getaway, city police said.The unidentified man, believed to be in his early 20s, was pronounced dead in the emergency room at the University of Maryland Medical Center at 3:02 a.m.An emergency room nurse said the man had no identification on him and was listed as "John Doe."Police said a woman, whose name was being withheld, was in the 1800 block of Vine St. about 2:45 a.m. when she was accosted by a man with a handgun who demanded her money.

A man who robbed New Windsor State Bank on Dec. 12 may be the man who fled Saturday with an undisclosed amount from the NationsBank branch in Mount Airy, police said.Witnesses described the robber Saturday as white, about 6 feet tall. He has a distinctively long, pointy nose and was wearing sunglasses and a dark knit cap.As in the New Windsor incident, the man handed a teller a note demanding money Saturday. No weapon was displayed and no one was injured, police said. The same NationsBank branch was robbed Dec. 6, but police do not believe the incidents are related.

County police are searching for the man who robbed a Severna Park bank yesterday.Police spokesman Officer V. Richard Molloy said the robber walked into the Maryland National Bank on Jumpers Hole Road about 11:30 a.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money.The teller gave the man the money, and the robber took back the note. He was last seen running south on Jumpers Hole Road, Molloy said.Police described the robber as a white man in his late 20s. He was wearing white sunglasses, a blue jacket and a dark baseball cap.Yesterday's hold-up was the bank's second in a month.

A man posing as a customer at a 7-Eleven in Severn early yesterday robbed the store of an undisclosed amount of money, county police said.Mesfin Bodea, an employee of the store in the 2600 block of Annapolis Road, told police the man walked in about 1: 30 a.m. and brought some items to the counter. When Bodea opened the register, the man pulled out a black handgun and demanded money, police said.Bodea handed over money and the man fled. The suspect is described as white, about 30 years old, 6 feet tall with a medium build and a red goatee.
