Police believe the man was shot near the intersection of West Cold Spring Lane and Dolfield Avenue, which is about a block from the West Cold Spring subway station. Baltimore County's violent crimes unit is investigating a non-fatal shooting late Monday in the Overlea neighborhood. Officers responded to a 911 call at 11:51 p.m. in the 7400 block of Linden Avenue, near Fullerton Avenue and east of Belair Road. Witnesses told police that a vehicle pulled up to an unidentified man, walking on the street, and fired several shots. The victim sustained at least one gunshot wound, police said. He is being treated at an area hospital and is expected to recover, police said.

Two men confronted another man in an Essex barbershop Wednesday afternoon and shot him, police said. Baltimore County police responded at 2:34 p.m. to the business in the 600 block of S. Marlyn Ave., near Homberg Street and Deep Creek. A 39-year-old man had been injured and he has been taken to an area hospital for treatment. His injuries were not life threatening. The motive for the shooting is still under investigation, police said. Police placed schools in the area on alert status as a precautionary measure.
