Baltimore police are investigating a shooting in Washington Village, according to a spokesman. The victim told police he was in a vehicle talking to a man standing in the 1200 block of Ward Street just before 1 a.m., said Baltimore Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi. The 22-year-old got out of his vehicle and the man shot several times, hitting him twice, said the spokesman. The victim was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment, Guglielmi said. A man was fatally shot a few blocks from the campus of Loyola University Maryland in Northern Baltimore on Thursday evening, police said. Police responded to the 4600 block of York Road, in the Guilford neighborhood, shortly after 6:30 p.m. The location is also close to the Guilford Elementary/Middle School. An unidentified man was shot in the leg in Northwest Baltimore about 9 p.m. Monday, according to city police. The victim was shot in the 3900 block of Barrington Road, police said. A department spokesman said police have no further details about the incident.

A man was fatally shot in the Waverly neighborhood shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday, according to police. Police responded to the 3300 block of Westerwald Ave., just off 33rd Street near the former site of Memorial Stadium, about 8:54 p.m. The location is less than two blocks from Waverly Elementary/Middle School. Homicide detectives were still investigating the shooting late Wednesday night, said Detective Nicole Monroe, a police spokeswoman. Further details were not immediately available.

A 23-year-old man remains in critical condition at an area hospital after he was shot Monday in a northwest Baltimore neighborhood. The victim was found at 10:02 p.m. in the 5300 block of Bosworth Avenue near Gwynn Oak Avenue. He had suffered a gunshot wound to the neck and lacerations to his face, police said. Two men confronted another man in an Essex barbershop Wednesday afternoon and shot him, police said. Baltimore County police responded at 2:34 p.m. to the business in the 600 block of S. Marlyn Ave., near Homberg Street and Deep Creek. A 39-year-old man had been injured and he has been taken to an area hospital for treatment. His injuries were not life threatening. The motive for the shooting is still under investigation, police said. Police placed schools in the area on alert status as a precautionary measure.

A 22-year-old Edgewood man was in critical condition Monday night at Maryland Shock Trauma Center after being shot in the torso, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office. Police have identified a suspect, spokeswoman Monica Worrell said in an emailed statement, adding that the incident "does not appear to be a random act of violence. Baltimore police identified the man fatally shot by an officer Saturday afternoon as 31-year-old Maurice Holloman of Belair-Edison, though a relative said his name was Maurice Donald Johnson. Two officers were dispatched to a home in the 3500 block of Elmora Avenue after a report of a "mental case" there — a man disrupting a children's gathering. Det. Donny Moses, a police spokesman, said the man attacked them without warning. After one of the officers fell into a glass table, injuring himself, the man attempted to grab the policeman's gun, Moses said.

A man was shot and killed in East Baltimore Monday night — marking the 74th homicide of the year, city police said. At 11:26 p.m., police responded to the 1100 block of N. Milton Ave. in the Biddle Street neighborhood. When officers arrived, they found the victim lying in the intersection of N. Milton Avenue and E. Chase Street, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at 11:35 p.m. Police did not immediately identify the man and said that no arrests had been made in the case.

A man who voiced contempt for Baltimore police and told defectives he had "no love lost" for the department was sentenced on Tuesday to 25 years in prison for using a rifle to shoot an officer last year. The officer, Andrew Zdura, with five years on the force, had been answering a domestic call near the suspect's in-law's house when he was struck in what appeared a random attack. Authorities said the bullet hit his holstered gun, causing it to discharge. The officer suffered shrapnel wounds.

A man was shot in Woodlawn in Baltimore County on Friday night, according to police. City police first responded at about 7:30 p.m. to reports of a man shot near the intersection of Liberty Heights Avenue and Powder Mill Lane, which is near Powder Mill Park and just inside the city line, according to Det. Jeremy Silbert, a city police spokesman. After determining the man had actually been shot nearby in Baltimore County, they turned the case over to county police, Silbert said.

A 46-year-old man who was in a coma since hitting his head on a sidewalk during a domestic fight in April has died, and city police said they are investigating the death as a homicide. No charges have yet been filed with the case. Police said Cornell Booker Sr. had been intoxicated and fighting with his girlfriend when their son intervened on a street in the 300 block of Whitridge Ave., in North Baltimore's Harwood community. Police said the victim fell during the altercation and hit his head on the sidewalk.

City police are investigating three homicides after two men died Tuesday of recently sustained gunshot wounds and a third man was shot and killed in the East Baltimore Midway neighborhood the same day. A 28-year-old man shot multiple times last week died at 10:34 a.m. Tuesday at Sinai Hospital. Christopher Mobley had been found wounded the evening of May 1 in the 3400 block of Piedmont Ave. in the Hanlon-Longwood neighborhood, a few blocks west of Mondawmin Mall. A 19-year-old man shot Sunday in the Seton Hill neighborhood died at 2:55 p.m. Tuesday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
