Howard County police planned to charge a 37-year-old Washington woman accused of tying up and beating a 79-year-old man in his North Laurel apartment yesterday afternoon and robbing him of $150.Police said the victim, who lives in the 9700 block of Country Meadows Lane, knew his attacker. Police said the woman entered the man's apartment, demanding cash. When the man refused to give her money, police said, she tied him up with neckties and beat him.Police did not release the name of the suspect or the victim.

A man armed with a handgun robbed a woman in the Ravenwood Shopping Center parking lot in the 8000 block of Loch Raven Boulevard of cash, cellphone on Sept. 24 at 6:45 p.m., police reports state. A 60-year-old man was slashed, possibly with a machete, and robbed yesterday outside a Wachovia bank in Crofton, Anne Arundel County police said. The man was walking from his vehicle to the bank in the Crofton Centre plaza on Route 3 about 9:30 a.m. when two men approached him, cut him on the legs and lower back and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from him. Anne Arundel County Police say a man who is legally blind was attacked and robbed as he walked along a street in Severn early Thursday. Police said at about 12:35 a.m., officers were called to the 8500 block of Pioneer Drive in Severn for report of strong arm robbery. There a 25-year-old man, who is legally blind, told officers that he was walking along Pioneer Drive when he was attacked by multiple suspects - one grabbed the man from behind and began to choke him while another when into the victim's pocket and removed an undisclosed amount of cash.

A Pasadena man who tried to do a good deed and give a man a lift home Monday night found himself the victim of a strong-arm robbery, county police said.David Ralph White Sr. of the 8400 block of Alvin Road was driving home a man he knew only by a nickname.When he pulled to the side of the street on Hog Neck Road about 11 p.m. to let his passenger out, the man grabbed and twisted Mr. White's arm. The mugger then took the victim's wallet and ran.Police showed Mr. White a photo lineup from which he picked out a suspect.

A man robbed a Crofton convenience store at gunpoint, Anne Arundel County police said. The masked robber entered the Crofton Village Mart at the intersection of routes 3 and 450 about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money. The robber fled on foot. Dollar General in Glen Burnie robbed A man robbed a Glen Burnie dollar store by shoving the cashier aside and grabbing money from the register, county police said. Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore City and Baltimore County. Baltimore City Northeastern District Officer assaulted/arrest: District drug enforcement officers stopped a van driven by a drug suspect at Bowleys and Sinclair lanes Wednesday night and were approaching on foot when the driver used it to pin Officer Victor Rivera against another vehicle before speeding away. Rivera's partner, Officer Sean Ruane, fired a shot that missed the driver. The driver was stopped a mile away at Edison Highway and Cliftmont Avenue, and in the van police found a quantity of drugs.

A man robbed the BB&T Bank branch on Baltimore Pike in Bel Air yesterday, authorities said. Bel Air police said the man entered the branch about 1:10 p.m. and presented a note to the teller, demanding cash. No weapon was displayed. Police said the man fled with an undisclosed amount of money. He was described as 5 feet, 9 inches to 6 feet tall; 25 to 30 years old, with a medium build.

Authorities are seeking a man they suspect is responsible for robbing 10 convenience stores and a gas station at gunpoint across Baltimore City and Baltimore County since mid-May, police officials said. In the city, Baltimore police believe the man is responsible for at least three robberies, all on the city's east side. On May 19, a man robbed a High's store in the 6600 block of Belair Road; on June 19, a Royal Farms store in the 6400 block of Pulaski Highway was robbed; and on June 28, a man robbed the Royal Farms Store in the 3300 block of E. Fayette St., city police said.

A man walking toward the employee entrance of Nordstrom in the 800 block of Dulaney Valley Road in Towson was assaulted from behind by four young men at 12:25 p.m. on May 5, police reports state. The robbers stole the man's cellphone and car keys before the four fled toward Fairmount Avenue, the reports said.

Anne Arundel police said a man robbed a Red Roof Inn Saturday in Hanover after telling a hotel clerk that the room rates were just too high. About 9 p.m. Saturday, a man entered the lobby of the Red Roof Inn in the 7300 block of Parkway Drive in Hanover and asked how much the nightly rates were. When the clerk answered, the man brandished a handgun and demanded money. The clerk gave the suspect money from a cash drawer, police said. The suspect fled on foot after finding a second cash drawer empty, police said.

A man and a woman waiting in the parking garage of the Maryland Live casino in Hanover were robbed at gunpoint early Friday, Anne Arundel County police said. A casino patron who left Maryland Live earlier was sitting in his car with a woman about 7 a.m. Friday when an armed man approached the vehicle and demanded money, police said. The man and woman were not hurt, and the robbery was filmed by security cameras in the parking garage. The suspect fled the garage with an undisclosed amount in a black Nissan Altima, police said.

A man was robbed as he cut through a strip mall in the 6300 block of York Road while walking home on March 12, police reports state. According to police, at about 10:30 p.m., the man was attacked by a man who took the walker's cellphone from his hands. The robber also took the man's wallet and the man later told police he saw three men leaving the scene.

A man was robbed of his cell phone during an attack in Rosedale last week. According to Baltimore County police, a man was walking at a bus stop at around 8:30 p.m. Feb. 6 near Fontana Lane and Philadelphia Road when he was approached by two men who grabbed his hood, pulled it over his head and struck him. The man attempted to fight back, but his attackers knocked him to the ground, according to the police report. The suspects then took a cell phone from the man's pants' pocket and fled the scene.

A man robbed a fast-food restaurant in Eldersburg late Tuesday. The man ordered the manager to open the business' safe, forced him into a walk-in freezer and then fled with an undisclosed amount of money, authorities said. State troopers from the Westminster barracks said the man, who was described as in his 20s, had a dark-colored pistol when he accosted the manager of Roy Rogers outside the business in the 1400 block of Liberty Road about 10:45 p.m. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call state police at 410-386-3000.

A man robbed a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in Glen Burnie Sunday night, according to Anne Arundel County police. Police said a man approached the front counter of the restaurant, located in the 6700 block of Ritchie Highway, pulled out a knife and demanded money from the cashier at the register at around 9:50 p.m. An employee complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of money to the robber, who then fled. Police officers searched the area, but were unable to find a suspect, who is identified as a black male, approximately 5'11" with a medium build.

A man was robbed at knifepoint in Brooklyn Park Sunday afternoon, according to Anne Arundel County Police. A 56-year-old man was walking home from a grocery store in the 5300 block of Brookwood Road around 1:42 p.m. when a man ran up to him, waved a knife and demanded his wallet, police said. The robber fled the scene after the victim handed him the wallet. Officers arrested Elisha Jamal Ransome, 18, of the 2900 block of Crystal Palace Lane after canvassing the area for a suspect.
