A Suitland man pleaded guilty yesterday in Howard County Circuit Court to three armed robberies and related handgun offenses committed during an alleged 2 1/2 -month crime spree in Maryland and northern Virginia.Terrance Maith, 21, entered his plea before Judge Raymond J. Kane Jr., who set sentencing for Jan. 30. Maith pleaded guilty last week to two related counts of armed robbery in Anne Arundel Circuit Court and is scheduled to be sentenced there Jan. 19.Assistant State's Attorney Mary V. Murphy said that under the plea agreement, prosecutors are asking the judge to impose a 25-year sentence, including a 10-year mandatory term for the gun offenses.

A Capitol Heights man charged in a 2 1/2 -month armed robbery spree in Anne Arundel and Howard counties, elsewhere in Maryland and Northern Virginia lost his bid yesterday to suppress a confession made after his arrest.Kenneth M. Hiligh, 22, sought to have his confession ruled inadmissible. In the two-day pretrial hearing in Howard County Circuit Court, his attorney, Richard O'Connor, argued that his client gave a statement under duress "after being held in an interview room all night and questioned."

Howard County police have filed warrants against two men in connection with the armed robberies of eight businesses during a streak of about 40 crimes around the state and in Northern Virginia since late last year.Kenneth Hiligh, 22, of Capitol Heights, and Terrance Maith, 20, of Suitland, were arrested by Prince George's County police late last month.Howard police say the pair is responsible for a string of holdups in an area south of U.S. 40 and north of the Howard-Prince George's line from Dec. 7 to Feb. 24."

A 36-year-old West Baltimore man was sentenced yesterday to life plus 40 years in prison for slaying a Pepsi-Cola deliveryman during a robbery in July outside a grocery store.Samuel "Petey" Maith Jr. of the 1300 block of N. Carey St. pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, armed robbery and a handgun violation yesterday in Baltimore Circuit Court, said Gary Schenker, an assistant state's attorney.The charges stemmed from the July 2 robbery and slaying of 25-year-old Genro Fullano.Mr. Fullano, of Essex, was married and the father of a 4-month-old when he was robbed and shot once in the chest after making a late-morning delivery at the West Lanvale Street Market in the 1700 block of W. Lanvale St.In July, George N. Buntin Jr., executive director of the Baltimore NAACP chapter, cited the Fullano killing when he called for a discussion of martial law as a deterrent to violent crime in the city.

A Pepsi-Cola deliveryman was slain yesterday in a robbery outside a West Baltimore grocery where he had just made a delivery, according to police.The victim was identified as Genro Fullano, 25, of Essex. Police said he was pronounced dead at 12:30 p.m. at the University of Maryland Medical Center.Mr. Fullano, married and the father of a 4-month-old, had been employed with the soda firm about two years, police said.The shooting occurred just after 11 a.m. at the West Lanvale XTC Street Market in the 1700 block of W. Lanvale St., said Agent Doug Price, a police spokesman.
