How dominant was No. 14 Liberty in the 22-6 victory it scored over visiting Magruder yesterday in a Class 3A-4A West Region quarterfinal? Consider the following:Twelve players combined to score the team's 22 goals.Liberty (12-3) outshot Magruder, 45-12, and scored on its first two shots, and three times in the first 1: 47 of the game.Magruder (8-4) never could score back-to-back goals or keep up with the Liberty quickness, speed and stickwork. The Lions, who now play host to North Carroll tomorrow at 5 p.m. in the region semifinal thanks to the Panthers' 7-4 victory over Westminster yesterday, controlled every phase of this game.

The musical "Triumph of Love" opened on Broadway Oct. 23 to mostly glowing reviews. (The notable exception was the New York Times.) A nonmusical version of the show -- based on an 18th-century French comedy by Pierre Marivaux -- originated in 1993 at Center Stage, with a translation by the theater's resident dramaturg, James Magruder. Last winter Center Stage premiered the musical, which has a book by Magruder.A newcomer to Broadway, Magruder has documented his debut in a journal, which he calls, "If It Ain't Broke, You're Not Looking Hard Enough," and which The Sun has been excerpting.
