Christopher T. Maddox Jr., a retired lawyer and Korean War veteran, died of stomach cancer Sunday at Gilchrist Center for Hospice Care. The lifelong Catonsville resident was 78. He was a 1945 graduate of Catonsville High School and earned his law degree in 1948 from what is now the University of Baltimore Law School. From 1952 to 1956, he served in the Navy as a yeoman aboard the aircraft carrier USS Forrestal. Mr. Maddox worked as a lawyer for Commercial Credit Corp. before joining Fidelity & Deposit Co. of Maryland in its salvage department in 1975.

On January 2, 2007, J. ALBERT MADDOX, SR., loving husband of Letitia S. Maddox. He is also survived by his loving children, Brenda M. Walker, Lisa M. Jordan, James Albert Maddox, Jr., Daniel J. Maddox, Wayne L. Maddox, Sr. Gregory B. Maddox, twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, sister Ruth M. Guy and brother Francis J. Maddox, Sr. He is preceded in death by son Brian Maddox. Friends may call at the family owned MARCH FUNERAL HOME WEST, INC., 4300 Wabash Avenue on Sunday after 10, where family will receive friends from 2 to 6. Family will also receive friends on Monday at the New All Saints R.C.C.

J. Albert Maddox Sr., who owned and operated a commercial printing business, died of an esophageal disorder Tuesday at Sinai Hospital. The Owings Mills resident was 85. Born in Baltimore and raised on Druid Hill Avenue, he was a 1940 graduate of Frederick Douglass High School. After serving in the Army during World War II in the Pacific, he joined a printing business established by his father, Gabriel B. Maddox Sr. Mr. Maddox worked alongside his brothers, Francis J. and Gabriel Maddox Jr., at the family business for several years until he went to work as a printer for the Afro-American newspapers.
