The Baltimore Blast has postponed Friday night's home game against the Philadelphia KiXX, rescheduling the contest for Saturday, March 13 at 1st Mariner Arena. Game time is set for 7:35 p.m. The bobblehead promotion that was set for Friday's game -- featuring Machel Millwood and Mike Lookingland -- also is rescheduled for March 13.

BLAST @WAVE Dec. 31, 3p.m. Machel Millwood led with a hat trick while Shaun David, Carlos Garcia and Pat Healey each scored two goals as the Blast stayed perfect on the road this season with a 19-8 win over the Norfolk SharX in Major Indoor Soccer League action Sunday. Despite giving up the first goal of the game and trailing for 19 minutes, the Blast (7-3) scored three goals in the second quarter to take a 7-2 lead into halftime. The SharX got a quick goal from Matthew Delicate less than 30 seconds into the match to take a 2-0 lead but Millwood answered in the second quarter with back-to-back goals to put the Blast on top 5-2. David added a late first-half goal to extend the lead to 7-2. The Blast and SharX combined to score five goals in the first six minutes of the third quarter, with the Blast extending its lead to 13-6.

Bo Jelovac scored with 58 seconds remaining, helping the host Syracuse Silver Knights defeat the Blast, 9-8, on Sunday and end its seven-game Major Indoor Soccer League winning streak. The Blast (8-3) dropped to one game behind the first-place Milwaukee Wave (9-2), while third-place Syracuse improved to 8-4 heading into its rematch at Baltimore Arena on Friday night. The winning goal came after the Silver Knights, with an extra attacker on the field, won a free kick at the edge of the Blast's area.

The team is hot with nine wins in its past 11 games, while the Cougars have dropped five of their past six and fallen out of the postseason picture. California has won two of their three meetings this season, including a 7-4 victory at home.

Enjoying a 2 1/2 -game lead atop the National Indoor Soccer League standings, the Blast seeks to create an even bigger margin after the KiXX did it a favor by beating second-place Monterrey on Sunday. Hewerton Moreira had five goals against Monterrey and leads the league with 41 points.

Max Ferdinand, Machel Millwood and Pat Healey each scored two goals Monday night as the Blast finished a two-game sweep of the host Rochester Lancers with a 14-8 win in the Major Indoor Soccer League's Eastern Division Finals. The Blast advance to the championship series, where they will face the Milwaukee Wave in a rematch of last year's final, which the Wave won, 16-7, in a one-game playoff at 1st Mariner Arena . The venue will host Game 1 of this year's final at 7:35 p.m. Friday; Game 2 will be 4 p.m. Sunday in Milwaukee.

On Saturday night, the Blast expected to celebrate another Major Indoor Soccer League playoff berth. The Missouri Comets had another idea. Missouri (9-9) went on a 10-3 run in the middle of the second half to outlast the Blast (15-5), 14-11, before an announced 6,319 at the 1st Mariner Arena . "We had a decent stretch, but it wasn't good enough," Blast coach Danny Kelly said. "With some of the goals we gave up, you're not going to win a professional soccer game. Our defending was poor and our finishing was poor.

Et cetera Blast routs Lancers, is 1st in MISL to 10 wins The first-place Blast opened 2013 with a convincing 17-4 win over the host Rochester Lancers on Tuesday to become the first Major Indoor Soccer League team to 10 wins this season. In a game that featured 19 penalty minutes, Blast rookie Lucas Roque led the way with two goals and goalkeeper William Vanzela made 14 saves in his league-leading sixth victory of the season. Marco Mangione opened the scoring midway through the first quarter, and Roque scored the next two, giving the Blast a 6-0 lead after one quarter.

With the second-place Comets visiting Baltimore, the Blast has a chance to add to its three-game lead. Coming off a 10-6 home win over Wichita on Dec. 7, the Blast simply has to keep doing what it's been doing: get balanced scoring and play strong team defense.

Goalkeeper Sagu , defender Mike Lookingland and midfielder Max Ferdinand were named to the first team, and forward Machel Millwood earned second-team honors. Defender Stephen DeRoux was named to the rookie team. The Blast will play the Milwaukee Wave in the first game of the MISL finals Friday at 7:35 p.m. at 1st Mariner Arena . The second game will be played at 4:10 p.m. Sunday in Milwaukee with a 15-minute mini-game to follow immediately if the series is tied.
