On July 24, 2005, JOSEPHINE LOHMEYER (nee Guercio) wife of the late Harry L. Lohmeyer, loving mother of Harry Michael Lohmeyer and wife Rachel, grandmother of Kristen Michelle, Michael Joseph and Ashley Danielle. Also survived by a wonderful circle of friends and family who supported her in life and helped her pass in the merciful hands of the Lord. Family will receive friends at the Witzke Funeral Home of Catonsville Inc., on Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P. M where services will be held on Thursday at 11 A.M. Interment Parkwood Cemetery.

Paul Lohmeyer, a retired consumer marketing executive who became a beer importer, died at Maryland Shock Trauma Center Friday of complications from a fall. A resident of the Charlestown Retirement Community, he was 86. Born in Pittsburgh, he earned a degree in English at the University of Pittsburgh and played on the school's basketball team. He competed in the 1941 NCAA Final Four basketball tournament. He served in the Army during World War II in the Pacific. Mr. Lohmeyer, who had a long career in consumer marketing, founded All Brand Importers, a business based in New York.

Anne Phelan Lohmeyer, one of the original faculty members of St. Paul's School for Girls, died Friday of complications of a stroke at Roland Park Place retirement community. She was 83.She had lived at the retirement community since 1991.She began her teaching career in the mid-1950s at Bryn Mawr School. When St. Paul's in Brooklandville opened in 1959, she joined the faculty as a history teacher and left in the mid-1960s.The former Anne Phelan Wright was born in Atlanta and reared in Rome, Ga. She made her debut in Atlanta in 1934 and earned a bachelor's degree from Goucher College.

Richard V. "Dick" Lohmeyer, a veteran Ocean City newspaperman whose career editing and owning newspapers in the resort city spanned half a century, died of heart disease May 5 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. The Berlin resident was 77. Mr. Lohmeyer was born in Philadelphia and raised in Baltimore. He was a 1945 graduate of St. Paul's School for Boys and briefly served in the Navy before being honorably discharged in 1946. He then enrolled at the University of Baltimore, where he earned a degree in journalism.

When parents walked into Ilchester Elementary School's gymnasium last week, it looked like an indoor playground. The room was nearly filled with a giant obstacle course: colorful ladders and wooden ramps led to hanging bars, monkey bars and balance beams. Ilchester is one of the first schools to use new gymnastics equipment purchased by the Howard County school system in June. The equipment, called Just Add Kids, is made by the Whittle company. It will rotate among elementary schools that sign up to use it for one month.

Arnold Dante Broccolino, a retired official of the old Community Action Agency, died of pneumonia Tuesday at Gilchrist Center for Hospice Care. The former Highlandtown resident was 89. Born in Baltimore and raised on Belnord Avenue, he was a tailor and worked with his brother at an East Monument Street jewelry store called the Treasure Chest. During World War II, he was an Army gunnery instructor. After the war, he became a watch repairman and remained in that trade until a wrist injury forced him to give up the trade.
