On June 15, 2004, following a long illness, ANNE E. STACK, a resident of Linthicum Heights since 1947; survived by one daughter Leanne Martin and one son Richard Stack. Preceded in death by Leon Stack, Jr., her husband. Memorial Service to be held on June 24, 7 P.M. at St. John Lutheran Church, Linthicum Heights. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to the American Cancer Society.

Anne E. Stack, a homemaker and former executive secretary, died of respiratory failure Tuesday at North Arundel Hospital. The Linthicum Heights resident was 84. Born Anne Elizabeth Brighoff in Baltimore and raised in Forest Park, she was a 1938 graduate of Forest Park High. "She gave herself the equivalent of a college education through her love of reading," said her son, Richard Stack, a Linthicum attorney who became a children's book author and dedicated his 1990 book, The Doggonest Vacation, to his mother.

On March 5, 2004 JOHN "KEN" SWANN of Camden, DE., formerly of Linthicum Heights, MD., beloved husband, for 51 years, of Phyllis V. (nee Schultz), devoted father of Stephen K., Raymond K., Joseph K., and Michael K. Swann, cherished brother of Thomas Swann, Charles Yoe and the late Mary J. Reckard and Carol Leishear. He is also survived by seven loving grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews. Mr. Swann was a retired Baltimore City Policeman. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the GARY L. MR. VANCE DYKHUIS, age 66, of Glen Burnie, Maryland, formerly of Holland, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2003. He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Maryland. He was a Shriner with the Boumie Temple, a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of several Masonic Organizations. He served in the United States Air Force. He is survived by wife Ellen Dykhuis of Glen Burnie, Maryland; sons Vance W. Dykhuis, Jr. and William Eric and Katie Dykhuis. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at 2:00 at the St. John Lutheran Church, 300 West Maple Road, Linthicum Heights, Maryland with Dr. William F.R. Gilroy officiating.

Robert J. Hewes, 64, teacher, guidance counselor Robert J. Hewes, who worked for 30 years in Anne Arundel County schools as a high school history teacher, then a guidance counselor, died of pancreatic cancer Friday at his Pasadena home. He was 64. Born in Baltimore and raised in Linthicum Heights, Mr. Hewes was a 1955 Brooklyn Park High School graduate. He earned a bachelor's degree from what is now Towson University and a master's degree in counseling from the Johns Hopkins University.
