In a typically bold/vaudeville move, Knicks owner James Dolan traded six players — including all the ones over 6-foot-8 in stocking feet — for Carmelo Anthony, who might have signed as a free agent. Dolan offered three starters and when the Nuggets asked for promising 7-foot rookie Timofey Mozgov, threw him in too. Happily, the Nuggets didn't ask for Madison Square Garden or the Knicks might be looking for a place to play. Gotham swooned as if the Knicks had landed LeBron James.

Kobe Bryant scored 37 points as the West beat the East, 148-143, in Sunday's NBA All-Star game. He beat out LeBron James, who piled up a triple-double in a losing effort, for MVP honors. Those statlines tell you everything you need to know about the effort in the defensive end, but hey, that's how these All-Star games go. And that's why I had more fun watching Justin Bieber go head-to-head with MTV "Rock 'N' Jock" alum Michael Rapaport in Friday's celebrity game . That game was much more entertaining than the real one, though that's not saying very much.

LOS ANGELES — Clippers rookie Blake Griffin won the dunk contest Saturday by leaping over a car while catching a pass through the sunroof from teammate Baron Davis and slamming with two hands at Staples Center. Griffin defeated Wizards forward JaVale McGee , who did a one-handed catch and dunk, in his final attempt. McGee had dunked on two rims placed side-by-side in the first round. Griffin's final dunk triggered wild applause as he jumped over the car perfectly and converted on his first attempt while the Crenshaw Select Choir sang "I Believe I Can Fly" at midcourt.

Dwyane Wade "probably threw the best pass in NBA history" in the first quarter of Miami's win over Indiana on Tuesday night. At least that's what Heat teammate LeBron James believes. (You know we're talking 65 years of NBA basketball here, right, LeBron?) "Great win for us tonight in Indy! [Wade] went Ham tonight and probably threw the best pass in NBA history. Check it out. " James said via Twitter after the game. Check out the video below and let me know if you agree with King James.

Griffin yes, Love no K.C. Johnson Chicago Tribune With apologies to his relentless rebounding, Kevin Love should schedule some travel for All-Star weekend and sit back and enjoy the Blake Griffin show. Dirk Nowitzki is a lock reserve. So is Pau Gasol, unless Commissioner David Stern moves him to center to replace the injured Yao Ming. Tim Duncan even could garner a sentimental pick from coaches. Even if Duncan doesn't, you can have only so many forwards, and Griffin has been more impressive — and made more of an impact — than Love.

Enough already Shandel Richardson Sun Sentinel Heat coach Erik Spoelstra has been asked this question all season. When responding, he always gives the same answer: "I think we have enough. " Spoelstra should quit thinking and just say the Heat has enough. The question has resurfaced because Miami has lost four straight games. Never mind the Heat won 21 of the previous 22. This is the Heat, where every stretch of the season is analyzed like college football by fans and media.

Get over it already Lisa Dillman Los Angeles Times In the words of rocker Don Henley, the answer is so, so easy. Get Over It. It's not quite going out on a limb to say there's almost no chance of LeBron James and Cavs owner Dan Gilbert reuniting in Cleveland in four years, or 14 for that matter. So, in therapy-speak, Gilbert needs to move on and get past the anger, the slights, real and imagined, and the perceived betrayals. He should write that last check to the lawyers — hard to cut that cord, we know.

News item: The Ravens face the surprising Tampa Bay Buccaneers late Sunday afternoon at M&T Bank Stadium. The Buccaneers and Ravens both are 7-3, but the Ravens are favored by about a touchdown. My take: Excuse me if I'm not too concerned about this one. The Buccaneers have played three elite teams so far this year, and their offense didn't show up for any of those games. News item: The Orioles made a serious run at free agent Victor Martinez — offering a reported $48 million over four years — but he chose to sign with the Detroit Tigers.

It's all over — oh, right, it never started — in Minnesota, where scorned Timberwolves general manager David Kahn gave away Al Jefferson, whereupon coach Kurt Rambis began yo-yoing Kevin Love. Or it's just starting, one or the other. Love just played long enough to average 21 points and 17 rebounds over six games, including his 31-31 against the Knicks. Meanwhile Michael Beasley, stolen from the Heat for two No. 2 picks, averaged 30 points.

Riley will stick with pal K.C. Johnson Chicago Tribune Pat Riley has developed a well-earned reputation as a win-at-all-costs competitor, sort of the Michael Jordan of the boardroom. Nevertheless, I still say Erik Spoelstra finishes the season as Heat coach. For starters, Spoelstra didn't get dumber during the offseason, and he's already considered one of the brighter young minds in the NBA. Secondly, Riley got his competitive jones last summer, when he scored the remarkable coup of landing LeBron James and Chris Bosh and re-signing Dwyane Wade.
