Lambdin Development Co. has announced plans to construct a new commercial building with office and retail space for lease at the Forest Hill Business Center in Harford County. Known as One Newport Drive, the project at Routes 24 and 23 and Newport Drive will be the third building on Lambdin's commercial project. Tenants include Wachovia Bank, Vision Associates, Edward Jones Investors and other retail and service enterprises. The two-story, 8,600-square-foot brick building is expected to be completed early next year.

James Lambdin has been appointed to the Northeast Regional Advisory Board for First National Bank of Maryland.The Harford County resident is president and chief executive officer of Art Builders Inc., an Abingdon-based real estate development firm. He is also vice president and chief executive officer of the real estate firm Ward & Lambdin Inc.Mr. Lambdin, who has a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Baltimore and a master's degree in finance from Loyola College, previously served as vice president of commercial lending and business development for First National Bank.

Frances A. Lambdin, a homemaker and longtime Reisterstown resident, died of a stroke Saturday at Northwest Hospital Center. She was 87. She was born Frances Turner in Baltimore and raised in Lansdale, Pa. After graduating from Norristown High School, she worked briefly in a five-and-dime store. In 1956, she married Joseph F. Lambdin, a clerk for the Social Security Administration in Woodlawn. He died in 1998. Mrs. Lambdin, a Reisterstown resident for 42 years, enjoyed sewing and playing pinochle.

Pierce J. Lambdin, the state's first legislative auditor, died Sunday of cancer at his home on Quincy Road in Towson. He was 74.A mass of Christian burial for Mr. Lambdin will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Towson.He retired in 1978 after serving as director of the Division of Audits in the General Assembly's Department of Fiscal Services since it was established in 1968 to audit all state agencies and oversee the audits of the subdivisions.

John F. "Bud" Lambdin, a retired telephone company foreman, died Thursday of lung cancer at North Arundel Hospital. He was 70 and had lived in Pasadena for 60 years. Born in East Baltimore, Mr. Lambdin was a 1951 graduate of Glen Burnie High School and served in the Navy during the Korean War. He worked for C&P Telephone Co. as a repairman for more than 20 years, and helped to wire Friendship Airport, now Baltimore-Washington International Airport, and the Millersville fire and police headquarters buildings.

On Saturday, February 4, 2006, ALVERTA J. (nee Cramblitt) wife of the late John H. Lambdin, devoted mother of Gloria L. Charlton and her husband Dr. John L. Charlton, the late John F. Lambdin and his wife Peggy Lambdin, loving grandmother of John Scott Lambdin, Brenda Hitchcock, Dr. John L. Charlton III, Karen Colhauer and the late Dean P. Charlton.
