Lady Gaga was slammed on the internet this week after adding 25 pounds to her normally svelte figure and is fighting back by promoting people's right to a positive body self image. The popular singer started a "Body Revolution" campaign on her website Little Monsters. She posted pictures of her new fuller body clad in only a bra and panties. She encouraged her fans to post photos of their own bodies, flaws and all. Gaga is far from fat with her new figure, but not the sticks and bones often glamorized in Hollywood and on the music scene.

Christina Murphy wanted her Halloween party to be epic. Rooms were given ghoulish themes. Everything was cobwebbed. Each light bulb was switched out into autumn colors. She even hired a professional makeup artist for herself and guests. Murphy enlisted the help of Lutherville-based Lexi Martinez to help transform her into "Star Wars" character Oola, Jabba the Hutt's green-hued dancer. She said her guests were blown away. "It looked amazing," said Murphy, a 28-year-old bartender.

Struggling GOP presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty apparently thought he could rev up his campaign by ... wait for it ... tepidly praising the music of Lady Gaga.   Ask yourself a simple question: Is it possible to look less presidential than this?  Keep in mind that this wasn't a case of Pawlenty getting asked a gotcha question from the lame-stream media. He brought up the topic.

Those who spotted Lady Gaga kissing Kermit the Frog at last year's MTV Video Music Awards won't be too surprised by this. Gaga's courtship of Kermit (and wearing a dress made out of mini-Kermies) may have paid off -- a report says her royal Gaganess might serve as a model for the Miss Piggy character in the upcoming reboot of Jim Henson's beloved franchise. "How I Met Your Mother" actor Jason Segel has been tapped to write the project, which will be called (at least for now)

Good to her word, Lady Gaga has sent along a package of gifts to Daniel Borowy, the teenager shot on the first day of school at Perry Hall High School. After the shooting, a grass-roots campaign attempted to catch Lady Gaga's attention -- with hopes that the pop star would visit Borowy, a huge Gaga fan, in the hospital. Though a visit wasn't to be, Insider reported that the pop star's people had promised to get at least something from her to him. And it happened. Borowy's father, Milton, posted about the package on the "Lady Gaga Please Visit Daniel" Facebook page: "I would like to start by thanking everyone for their thoughts and prayers for Daniel," He wrote.

A campaign is under way to convince Lady Gaga to visit one of her biggest fans -- the 17-year-old high school student shot Monday at Perry Hall High School. As Daniel Borowy, a special education student at Perry Hall, remained in critical condition, his classmates took to the Internet to try to cheer him up in the only way they could think of -- to get his favorite singer to come visit him in the hospital. Students started a campaign Tuesday asking everyone they knew to ask everyone they knew to Tweet "#GagaVisitDaniel" in hopes that Lady Gaga, a huge presence on Twitter, would see it and find a way to visit Daniel.

Adele, Lady Gaga , and Mumford & Sons have the highest-selling albums of the year, according to Nielsen SoundScan, which released mid-year sales figures Wednesday. The three artists also have the top three digital albums from January through July 3, the period the new data covers. But the highlight of the report is that album sales are up for the first time since 2004. It's a small, 3.6 percent increase over the same period last year, but it's a bump nonetheless for an industry desperately looking for good news wherever it can find 'em.  Adele's "21" has sold 2.5 units; Gaga's "Born this Way" sold 1.5 and Mumford & Sons' "Sigh No More" has moved 982,000 unites.

The hook is simple: Five, all-male, musically inclined Lady Gaga fans convert the pop queen's four-on-the-floor anthems into glam rock and name it Rad Bromance. It's a flashy act, but strip away the glitter and lead singer Ryan Shtainhorn's skin-tight outfit, and what remains is a Philadelphia tribute band able to morph Gaga songs into a hybrid of flamboyant showmanship, pop-punk breakdowns and enough dance-thump to get a crowd moving. Rad Bromance's Monster Balls Tour stops by The Ottobar Saturday, marking the band's first all-ages show in Maryland.

The student victim of a shooting at Perry Hall High School is getting better, but he's "not out of the woods," his family's pastor said Thursday.
