This one wasn't even close.Most of them haven't been.Anne Arundel Community College's men's lacrosse team had no trouble disposing of Gettysburg's club team Tuesday, winning 19-0. Jamison Miller scored six goals, Norm Tucker added four and Dave Livingston had one goal and five assists.Chris Brown made five saves, as Anne Arundel raised its record to 7-1, the only blemish a 12-11 double-overtime loss to Essex CC last week."We're playing pretty good," said coach Buddy Beardmore. "We still need to polish up a few things as far as our six-on-six offense, and some other things.

The dust has settled in the wake of Johns Hopkins' announcement that the men's lacrosse team will join the Big Ten for the 2015 season. But that does not mean that the sport's makeover is complete. "Things are going to continue to shuffle, things are going to continue to evolve," ESPN analyst and former Johns Hopkins midfielder Mark Dixon said. "… Expect the unexpected. You just never know what is going to take place. Everyone is looking out for No. 1, and you have to. You have to take care of your own, you have to take care of your situation, and that's what these schools are doing.

For months, Duke lacrosse families have directed their anger largely at the prosecutor who brought what they consider a baseless sexual assault case against three players. But District Attorney Michael B. Nifong, who recused himself from the case last week, isn't the only object of their rage. Parents of team members say the university abandoned the 46 players, buckling under pressure by faculty and demonstrators to take action against the team when an African-American stripper's rape allegation surfaced last March.

Et cetera AACS' Murray chosen to U-16 national hoops team Taylor Murray (Annapolis Area Christian School) was named to the 12-player USA Basketball women's under-16 national team after four days of trials that began with 124 players on the court at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. DeJanae Boykin , a Springdale native who attends Charles H. Flowers High in Prince George's County, also made the squad. The team will reassemble for training camp June 10-16 at the USOTC before departing for the FIBA Americas U16 Championship, which will be played June 19-23 in Cancun, Mexico.

Robert Belknap Green, the managing partner of a Towson law firm, died Oct. 28 at Sinai Hospital after suffering a heart attack while driving to work. The Roland Park resident was 61. "Bob was the best partner and friend anyone could ever have," said his law partner David B. Irwin, who lives in Cockeysville. "He was the glue that kept our firm together, and he was the best counselor anyone could ever hope to have. " Born in Baltimore and raised in Roland Park, Mr. Green was the second of four sons of Richard H. Green, a Chesapeake & Potomac telephone marketing manager and Elizabeth B. Green, an office manager for the Boy Scouts.

James McCormick "Mickey" Webster Jr., an outstanding lacrosse attackman who was co-captain of the 1959 Johns Hopkins University national championship team and later became an insurance and financial planning executive, died Friday of pancreatic cancer at Gilchrist Hospice in Towson. He was 75. "Mickey was an exalted figure in the game. There are All-Americans every year who deserve it, but he was more than just an All-American, he was one of lacrosse's greats," said Bill Tanton, former longtime sports editor of The Evening Sun. "When it comes to feeding, his name is synonymous with the great Hopkins teams of the late 1950s.

Lacrosse Stevenson men receive Ciccarone Award After winning the school's first national championship, the Stevenson men's lacrosse team has been selected to receive the Henry Ciccarone Memorial Award by the Touchdown Club of Annapolis as the organization's Collegiate Team of the Year. "For the past 40 years or so, the Touchdown Club has chosen one college lacrosse team in Maryland to receive this award," president Justin Mullen said. "There was no debate this year as Stevenson's outstanding 2013 season that culminated in the school's first Division III national championship clearly stood out above the rest.

Jeremy Mattoon, who guided Hood's men's lacrosse team for the past two seasons, will not be back for a third. Adrienne Mullikin, the college's sports information director, said Monday afternoon that Mattoon did not coach in the Blazers' regular-season finale against Widener on Saturday. The team's assistant coaches shared the head-coaching duties in a17-7 loss. Mattoon's name and bio are no longer on the team's website. Citing privacy laws, Mullikin declined to discuss the reason for Mattoon's departure.

Baltimore-based sporting goods maker STX announced today that it has signed five new members to Team STX, the first-ever elite post-collegiate women's lacrosse team. Added to the roster are Kitty Cullen (McDonogh), Sam Farrell (Severna Park), Alyssa Kildare (Johns Hopkins), Taylor Thornton and Lauren Schmidt . The new athletes join captain Josie Owen (Severn), Grace Gavin (Loyola, St. Paul's), Julie Gardner (Severna Park), Lauren Benner (Severn)
