Jackass Number Two is crude, disgusting, lowbrow comedy, a relentlessly (and proudly) scatological ode to the kind of high jinks that seem screamingly funny in direct proportion to the amount of liquor one has imbibed. The movie is 95 minutes of pranks and stunts, a bunch of guys doing dangerous stuff (riding in jet-propelled shopping carts), disgusting stuff (most of which I couldn't describe without getting fired), outrageous stuff (a guy persuades his obese father to get out of bed in the middle of the night and let another obese guy cuddle up to his unsuspecting mother)

When the American Academy of Pediatrics announced its first guidelines for diagnosing kids with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD or ADD) last month, a primary reason was to help prevent doctors from overprescribing drugs such as Ritalin for treatment. The fear is that too many doctors and parents alike turn to medications as the main option for handling what might be a child's misbehavior problems and not illness. Joel Lubar, for one, isn't surprised about the guidelines, which reportedly were three years in the making and debating.

NEW ORLEANS - In the wake of yet another heartbreaking loss to Connecticut in the national championship game last night, it was hard for Tennessee's returning players to see a bright spot on the horizon. But for the Lady Vols, who made their third straight Final Four appearance, next year promises to be more of the same, as they welcome a star-studded freshman class that includes Candace Parker, a 6-foot-3 forward who last week won a dunk contest over five high school boys. With six high school All-Americans coming to Knoxville next year, Tennessee appears to be poised to stay near the top of women's college basketball.

Jacqueline Maurer from Pittsburgh was looking for a recipe for graham cracker pie. She said her mother used to make this for her family when she was growing up in the 1950s and 1960s but that she no longer has the recipe. Dolores Cavanaugh from Knoxville, Tenn., sent in her mother's recipe for the pie. She said her mother made this pie often in the 1930s and 1940s, "when times were harder and the ingredients were on hand. " She said she could hardly wait until the pie came out of the oven and was cool enough to cut and eat. It's no wonder these women have such fond memories of this pie. Everyone in my house, including my husband, who usually could not care less about dessert, absolutely loved it. It looked, smelled and tasted heavenly.

Like his father before him, William Alex Haley stood on the Annapolis City Dock yesterday, stared out across the sparkling water, and fell silent. He had just spent the morning talking about cultural diversity, family values and the legacy of "Roots," the Pulitzer Prize-winning book that his father, Alex Haley, spent 12 years researching. Now he was standing at the foot of the harbor near the spot where his father had come on a pilgrimage and wept one September day 25 years ago. It's here that Kunta Kinte was led ashore in chains on Sept.
