Somebody forgot to tell Owings Mills. The Eagles (18-6) used a team-first philosophy on offense and defense - and a timely block by Thomas Malcolm - to defeat Worcester County's Snow Hill, 44-42, and advance to their first state championship. Owings Mills will face Dunbar at 1 p.m. today for the Class 1A state title.

-- PHILADELPHIA -- Reggie White took the microphone. His husky voice has just two modes, a whisper and a shout. This came out in an angry shout."I'm tired of drugs infiltrating the community! I'm tired of seeing young people die! And that's why we're going to be out here! And we're going to IMPACT people's lives! We might not impact everybody's life, but we're going to IMPACT some lives!"His voice echoed off the painted brick walls of the dilapidated apartment buildings of the Richard Allen Homes in North Philadelphia.

You've been called the Keith Jackson, John Madden or Simon Cowell of figure skating. No - you are the Dick Button of figure skating! And we have needed you in these tripping, feuding, underachieving, under-rating'ed Winter Games. We go way back with you - back to the '88 Games, when you innocently commented on a pair of ice dancers: "That was an angry tango!" A classic Buttonism was born!
