Kawasaki is expanding into Fell's PointIf all goes as scheduled, the new Kawasaki Cafe should open this week at 907 S. Ann St. in Fells Point. It's an offshoot of the Kawasaki Japanese Seafood Restaurant on North Charles Street. It will, of course, have sushi; but the specialties will be lots of noodle dishes and grilled foods. "It's a younger crowd in Fells Point," says owner Tzu Yang, "So it's a more fun approach." And, by the nature of the food, more reasonable prices.Loco Hombre bites the dust in PikesvilleLoco Hombre Pikesville, the Tex-Mex restaurant that opened a little over a year ago in the Commerce Center, has closed.

The burglar was not seen, but apparently took a flashlight and a fanny pack used as a purse.* Owen Brown: 7400 block of Hickory Log Circle: Someone took a video game from a home after entering through an unlocked basement sliding glass door between 11:30 p.m. Thursday and 12:30 a.m. Friday.

A Union Bridge motorcyclist was severely injured Wednesday evening after he drove off the road and into a ditch, police said.Kevin D. Mitten, 24, of the first block of Farquhar St. was northbound on Ebert Road near Bark Hill Road when the vehicle went out of control on a curve, police said. Mitten was thrown from his Kawasaki ZX900 when he struck the ditch, police said.Mitten was flown by state police MedEvac helicopter to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he was in serious and stable condition, a hospital spokeswoman said yesterday.

Driver killed in crash identified as Baltimore manGeorge Michael Minkle, 19, of Baltimore was identified yesterday as the driver killed in a head-on collision with a tractor-trailer in Elkridge on Monday.Mr. Minkle apparently fell asleep behind the wheel of his Dodge Neon, said Sgt. Steven Keller, a police spokesman.The accident occurred 8: 20 a.m. on U.S. 1 at Route 100. Mr. Minkle's car crossed the double yellow traffic lines into the path of a tractor-trailer, police said.The car was crushed, and it took rescuers a half-hour to pry Mr. Minkle from the wreckage.

Kurt Mahlon Chenowith, 25, died Tuesday morning when his motorcycle hit the side of a car turning out of Bob Bell Chevrolet in Bel Air, police said. Chenowith, of Fork, was driving his 2009 Kawasaki Ninja south on Route 1 south of Old Joppa Road when he struck the driver's side of a 1990 Oldsmobile that was turning left out of the dealership parking lot into the northbound lane, said the Maryland State Police. The crash happened shortly after 11 a.m. The driver of the Oldsmobile and the front seat passenger were unhurt in the collision, police said.

A 31-year-old Brooklyn man died early Saturday after a motorcycle crash in Anne Arundel County. Dante Edward Ford of the 100 block of Key Ave. in Brooklyn was driving a 2000 green Kawasaki motorcycle southbound on Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard at about 12:46 a.m. when he lost control at a bend in the road near Boulevard Place, said Lt. Mike Brothers, spokesman for Anne Arundel Police. Ford veered off the road and struck a concrete barrier, he said. The crash is still under investigation, but Brothers said speed and alcohol are potential factors.

A Cecil County man was killed Sunday morning in Fallston when he lost control of his motorcycle and was struck by an oncoming car, the Harford County Sheriff's Office said. Adam Charles Wyatt, a 29-year-old resident of Rising Sun, was pronounced dead at the scene. The sheriff's office said Wyatt was coming around a curve in the 1700 block of northbound Carrs Mills Road when he lost control of his 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle and was ejected. He was struck in the southbound lane by an oncoming 2004 Honda Civic.

A Delaware man was killed Saturday on Route 100 near Snowden River Parkway when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck a guardrail, Howard County police said. Oscar K. Gradey, 35, of Wilmington was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel about 7:30 p.m. Police say Gradey was westbound on Route 100 in the middle lane when he attempted to change lanes. Gradey lost control of his Kawasaki ZX11 and struck the guardrail in the median, police said. "It appears he was traveling in excess of the posted 55-mph speed limit," police spokeswoman Sherry Llewellyn said.
