Holly Marie Kavanaugh and Derek Jon Haseltine were married on November 20, 2004 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Crofton, MD. The receptionwas held at the Sheraton Barcelo Hotelof Annapolis. The bride is the daughter of Judith A. Kavanaugh, of Halethorpe, MD, and the late Charles E. Kavanaugh, Sr. She graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications and is a Property Administrator with MIEProperties, Inc. The groom is the son of Reginald and Nancy Haseltine, of Crofton, MD. He holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland at College Park and a Master's of Education degree from The University of Texas.

Robert H. Kavanaugh, a retired Baltimore Sun executive and World War II veteran, died of cardiac arrest Dec. 4 at his Clearwater, Fla. home. The former North Baltimore resident was 84. Born in Ellicott City, he was the son of Emmett Patrick Kavanaugh, a vice president of the old A.S. Abell Co., publishers of The Sun. After attending St. Paul's Parochial School in Ellicott City, he graduated from Mount St. Joseph's High School in 1942. He enlisted in the Navy during WWII and served aboard the battleship New York in the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa.

MARGARET A. KAVANAUGH, 87, of 630 Willow Valley Square, Lancaster, PA, formerly of Baltimore, MD died April 20, 2006 at The Glen at Willow Valley. She was the daughter of the late Joseph R. and Mary A. Dunnock Shenton. She was the wife of the late Charles E. Kavanaugh who died in 1993. Mrs. Kavanaugh was a member of the Institute of Notre Dame in Baltimore. She is the last of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary J. Shenton, and brothers, John Shenton, Philip Shenton and Louis Shenton.

WASHINGTON -- Appeals court nominee Brett M. Kavanaugh, a White House lawyer and staff secretary to President Bush, told Senate Democrats yesterday that he learned about the controversies involving warrantless wiretapping, legal uses of torture and disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff by reading the newspapers. Kavanaugh, 41, is slated to become a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals in Washington. During his second and final hearing before the Judiciary Committee, Democrats quizzed him on whether he had played a role in those legal controversies.
