Jacoby Jones and Karina get the first jazz dance of the season. He says, "I wasn't nervous in the Super Bowl, do you think I'd get nervous for this?" and Karina gives him a shove. She's too smart to pull his finger during rehearsal but he cuts one without help. Karina brings in some friends, a troupe of tiny girls, and yes, Jacoby in their midst is as cute as you'd think. They taunt him mercilessly. They start with Karina on Jacoby's shoulders, under a very tall trenchcoat, in sepiascope.

Jacoby Jones begins the finales tonight coming down the staircase in purple and gold, with partner Karina Smirnoff in a purple dress -- a nice nod to Jacoby's hometown of New Orleans. Their first round is the "judges' pick" dance, and it's the jive. Jacoby says in an interview that he was in the middle of the pack through a lot of the competition, but now, with a tie for the lead last week, he's put on his burst of speed for the last 100 meters. Judge Len Goodman shows up in the rehearsal studio to work with Jacoby on his footwork.

So, tonight we find out who's making it into next week's finale! (It's also the 300th episode of "Dancing with the Stars. ") And this is the next to last results show I'll ever recap, given the announcement that in the fall, there will no longer be a separate results show . I'm not feeling good about that, but we'll see. The show starts with five pro couples in a routine and then they're joined by five more couples. In case you had any doubt who the stars of this show really are, Derek Hough and Mark Ballas are choreographed at the front of the dancers during an extended section of the number.

Q. My wife and I are the happy parents of an 8-month-old daughter, Karina. Each of us stays home to raise her by working opposite shifts. We would like another child by Karinas second birthday, but a doctor friend recommends we hold off until Kaina is 3. In his view, Karina's inner-directed needs would not be fully met if she has a sibling too soon. At 3, she would be more outer-directed and ready to handle a sibling who gets a lot of attention. I like to think I have enough love and devotion to satisfy both, or all, of my children.

With a week to go before the kickoff of "Dancing with the Stars," Raven Jacoby Jones, who is competing on the show this season, has been practicing in Baltimore. Jones and his partner Karina Smirnoff have worked on their routine at the Owings Mills JCC. The other day, the pair took a break from practice and tried to teach the center's pre-school children Jones' signature end zone move, the "Choppa City Juke. "

It's semifinals week on “Dancing with the Stars,” and Jacoby Jones and Karina Smirnoff had two dances this week: Argentine Tango and Lindy Hop (chosen by Twitter users). First up was the Argentine Tango. Karina and Jacoby are losing their patience with each other in rehearsal this week. During rehearsal on the ballroom stage for camera blocking, Karina had a flip over Jacoby that ended with her landing on her jaw, and it sounds like she might have had a slight concussion. She goes to the hospital, but we don't follow her there.

The results show opens with Witney and four of the male troupe members doing a Latin number. This is a tremendous showcase for her. And you better believe the camera, and camera man, are loving her. Brooke has a dress that looks like her left bosom is covered by a spill-proof bib. It's part of the overall color blocking of the dress, but it's unfortunate nonetheless. Highlight clip package from last night with no new footage of note. Just go read my recap if you missed last night.
