Residents in the tiny community of Johnsville jokingly call it a "Leave It to Beaver" kind of place.Most people do their yardwork on the weekends. There is little, if any, conversation about crime. And, other than the frequent rumbling of trucks down the small stretch of Route 75 that is Johnsville's Main Street, daily activity is tranquil.The general store that once offered everything from haircuts to fertilizer is gone. So is Gruber's Garage, and the local antique store.With only a few more than 300 residents, this Frederick County community that rests between Union Bridge and Libertytown would certainly suit June and Ward Cleaver just fine.

Just like the cars that often wait in queue at the intersection of intersection of Route 32 and Johnsville/Bennett roads in Eldersburg, a proposal to add another lane there might have to wait behind other projects all across the state. State Delegate Susan Krebs and County Commissioner Doug Howard met with a representative of the State Highway Administration on Thursday, Oct. 27, at the intersection to pitch the idea of adding a designated left turn lane on Route 32 northbound.

On September 15, 2005, WAYNEEVERETT WILLIAMS. Devoted son of Catherine Jean (nee Lensch) and Thomas Hobbs. Loving husband of Susan J. Williams (nee Menten). Also survived by daughters Michelle Lynch and husband Ryan, Amy Williams and friend Mike, Kim Williams and friend Jon and Allison Williams. Also survived by siblings Ron Williams, Linda Russo and Cindi Hobbs. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends. He was predeceased by his father Charles Everett Williams in 1957.

On January 30, 2005, ETHEL SHEPPE DONALDSON, beloved wife of the late Wallace Porter Donaldson, devoted mother of Paul and Frank Donaldson and Lynn Clarke, loving mother-in-law of Barbara and Linda Donaldson and Bob Clarke. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by siblings, the late Howard Sheppe, Lt. Col (ret) Frank W. Church Women United in Carroll County will sponsor worship services tomorrow in honor of World Community Day. The theme of the worship will be "Circles of Love." World Community Day brings together Christian women of different denominations in a worship experience that focuses on peace and justice issues.
