Under Armour has lost its apparent bid for an endorsement deal with Johnny Manziel, the former Texas A&M quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner known as "Johnny Football. " Manziel, the possible first overall pick in the NFL draft, has signed a multi-year marketing deal with Under Armour rival Nike, ESPN reported. Though Nike, which confirmed the agreement to ESPN, did not release financial terms, ESPN said the marketing rights will come at the highest price for a rookie in this year's class.

The Cincinnati Bengals ran into a buzz saw named Tom Brady last Sunday night during an ugly loss to the New England Patriots. The 43-17 blowout raised questions about the Bengals' ability to defend elite offenses without injured Pro Bowl linebacker Vontaze Burfict in the lineup. The Patriots piled up 505 yards of total offense against a Cincinnati defense that entered last week having allowed the fewest points in the NFL. In their first loss of the season, the Bengals (3-1) struggled mightily to contain Patriots tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Tim Wright, who had a combined 11 catches for 185 yards and two touchdowns.

Banners welcoming Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Johnny Manziel to Under Armour's Locust Point headquarters have sparked rumors of a potential endorsement deal. The Sun reported Monday on the appearance of the signs, including a banner that said, "Welcome To Our House, Johnny. " But the sports apparel and footwear brand has no news to share regarding the high profile Texas A&M football player known as "Johnny Football," an Under Armour executive said Wednesday. "We have athletes and schools come and visit us, to see the campus or talk about potential deals, but we have nothing to announce on Johnny Manziel," said Matt Mirchin, Under Armour executive vice president of global marketing.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh praised the late-game adjustments on defense in Sunday's 23-21 win over Cleveland that kept the Browns off the scoreboard in the final quarter and gave the offense the chance to complete its comeback. "That's what won the game, the resolve of our guys to finish the game - probably spearheaded by our defense in terms of the three-and-outs," Harbaugh said. "I think we had three out of four three-and-outs at the end, and two in a row in the fourth quarter.

Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel was robbed of what would have been the crowning moment of his young NFL career Sunday when an illegal procedure penalty was called on rookie running back Terrance West for not getting set in the backfield. Manziel, who feigned leaving the field after his lone snap at quarterback for the game, was standing near the sideline - but still on the field - with offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan when he set off into a go-route into open space and hauled in what would have been a 39-yard completion.

The Ravens might be set at quarterback, but Johnny Manziel is coming to Baltimore. Sort of. The 2012 Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback, who is entering the 2014 NFL Draft after two high-profile seasons with Texas A&M, is the subject of new signage at Under Armour's Locust Point campus. Signs in at least two locations at Under Armour's headquarters welcomed Manziel to "the team," though its not clear which team that is, exactly. Requests for comment from Under Armour were not immediately returned Monday evening.

Two, if he's lucky Matt Murschel Orlando Sentinel It's a fair question considering Johnny Manziel won the award as a redshirt freshman. Only one other person — Archie Griffin — has won the award multiple times and he did that almost four decades ago. That's why I believe Manziel will be lucky to win one more, if that, and his best shot could be if Outland Trophy winner Luke Joeckel and Jake Matthews return to Texas A&M for their senior seasons. They anchor what could be one of the best offensive lines in the country.

After 60 years in the ACC, one of the conference's original members, Maryland, will make its long-anticipated exit at the end of this upcoming academic calendar year. The Terps will be joining Rutgers in making a move to the Big Ten. One could make a claim that until the move is official 11 months from now, Maryland is a lame duck, living in a sort of conference realignment-driven limbo. ACC commissioner John Swofford does not count himself among those who believe that.
