Yesterday on this blog I wrote about John Cena giving praise to Antonio Cesaro in the ring in Munich, Germany . I talked about the differences between John Cena the human being (who is among the most charitable faces of a company anywhere) and John Cena the character (whom many people dislike because he is often portrayed as super human, often beating superstars when the odds are gravely against him). On this week's RAW we got another example of the latter. John Cena faced the Real Americans in a handicap tag team match.

What seemed like an obvious transition in the main event picture from Night of Champions to Hell in a Cell has been thrown into disarray over the past two weeks. On Monday night, Dean Ambrose once again was the feature attraction as he tormented Seth Rollins throughout the night. He had stolen the Money in the Bank briefcase on Smackdown, and continued to walk around with it. Later in the night, he turned the briefcase over to Rollins (accompanied by Jamie Noble, Joey Mercury and other “security”)

WWE wasted no time in allowing John Cena and Brock Lesnar to get physical -- and the result was magic. For the past year, Cena and The Rock were kept apart, competing on the microphone rather than in the ring. WWE appears set to go a completely different direction with Cena's newest foe. After General Manager John Laurinaitis introduced Lesnar with a glowing welcome, the former UFC champion took to the mic. But before long, Cena would emerge. And in uncharacteristic fashion, Cena let his actions speak louder than his words, slapping Lesnar.

When Roman Reigns went down with injury, we knew someone would have to step up to take his place as the No. 2 face in the company for the time-being. Based on Monday night, that person is going to be Dean Ambrose. At the beginning of the show, Ambrose came out to run down Seth Rollins and say how much he wanted to get his hands on him. Then John Cena came out, as Rollins cost Cena on Sunday, and said he wanted some revenge as well. The Authority then came out, saying that Rollins wouldn't fight tonight, but instead of waiting, both Ambrose and Cena attacked, chasing Rollins to the back, to the point where Rollins had to drive off. Matches were made for Ambrose vs. Kane, and Cena vs. Orton.

Arda Ocal (@arda_ocal) of The Score Television Network and The Baltimore Sun spoke with WWE superstar Ryback (@Ryback22) about the release of his new character for the WWE '13 video game, his frustrations playing the character Skip Sheffield, the 'Feed Me More' chant, comparisons to Goldberg, working with John Cena and CM Punk, and much more.

Roughly three times a year, John Cena changes colors. Typically we see his "kit" in a predominant black, green, orange, black again, red, purple, black again, etc. This time, the CeNation will wear a color their leader has never donned before - and it brings a charitable twist . Tonight at the Night of Champions pay-per-view event, for his main event match with CM Punk, John Cena will wear pink. Pink hat, pink arm band, black shirt with pink logo. The message? Rise Above Cancer.

It was a scene we have (sort of) seen before: John Cena and Randy Orton, face to face, two champions in the ring. We have seen John Cena and Randy Orton square off. We have seen John Cena, as champion, stare down another champion (CM Punk). Where this will lead is the big question. Among many in the WWE fan base there has been discussion of title unification -- the World Heavyweight title today feels more like the Intercontinental title of 20 years ago, as opposed to a major championship equal to the WWE title.

After the main event at WWE's Live Event on Saturday night in Munich, Germany, John Cena got on the microphone and asked for Antonio Cesaro to return to the ring. There, he asked the German-speaking superstar to translate his words to the audience. At one point Cesaro refused to translate the World Heavyweight Champion's words, because they were complimentary to him. Cena then began to praise Cesaro to the crowd. The full video is here . This is not the first time something like this has happened at a WWE Live Event (or when the cameras have stopped rolling at a televised event)

As Sheamus walked down the RAW ramp to follow John Cena, he called Cena's promo "bizarre. " That it was. It did seem like Cena was at his most loose and comfortable, being goofy and interacting with the fans, talking about people's Sunday mornings and afternoons. What confused me was that this was among the very last images we saw six days before the Royal Rumble -- though the segment was saved by a locker room brawl in the ring, setting up the Royal Rumble match. I can't help but think of John Cena the campy, goofy joker vs. John Cena, the serious Superstar with a point to make.

Damien Sandow is at an exciting point in his career. Here he is, the Money in the Bank briefcase holder for a guaranteed shot at the world heavyweight title, and the face of WWE -- John Cena -- just became the world heavyweight champion. As a superstar on the rise, you can't ask for a better opportunity to crack the main event. During a phone interview Monday, Sandow, largely in character, didn't let on any excitement about this fact, but he spoke about cashing in against Cena.

A general rule in wrestling pay-per-views is that the main event should end with a decision. Whether the finish is clean or ends with interference, main events generally have a decisive winner and a loser. However, sometimes a storyline calls for a disqualification, as we saw at Night of Champions, and the WWE has to deal with the fallout from it. On Sunday night, after a hard-fought match against John Cena, Brock Lesnar retained his title after Seth Rollins attacked Cena, drawing a DQ. Rollins, who used his Money in the Bank briefcase to briefly incapacitate Cena, then turned his attention to Lesnar, who had been downed after Cena hit him with an AA for the fourth time in the match.

Night of Champions has had a lackluster build, but the pay-per-view could end up directing the flow of the WWE for the next few months. The WWE seems to always get in a bit of a rut after SummerSlam. They had so much geared up toward the big event, that they have a bit of a hangover in September or October. This year has been no different, as they have limped to this weekend's pay-per-view, Night of Champions. Once you throw Roman Reigns' injury into the equation, which takes out one of the marquee matches in Reigns against Seth Rollins, and there has to be a lot of questions swirling around this show.

John Cena returned after a one-week absence to hype his rematch with Brock Lesnar, and it was like he never left. After losing in brutal fashion to Lesnar at Summerslam, many wondered how that would affect Cena's character. It was one of the more brutal losses in wrestling and, especially if he was going for a rematch, it seemed something would have to change for Cena to be able to compete with Lesnar once again. However, based on Monday night, it seems nothing will change in Cena's quest to recapture the WWE World Heavyweight Title.

A week after a RAW filled with returns and new storylines, RAW from Montreal this week featured storyline development and in-ring action. The main angle for RAW revolved around the main event at Battleground, as John Cena, Roman Reigns, Randy Orton and Kane danced around each other all night. RAW started with Reigns coming down to the ring to cut a promo saying that he can be the one to stop Cena. He's definitely been getting more comfortable on the mic as time passes, as he was able to control the crowd, and play to them, in the promo.

Sunday night's Money In The Bank ended with a familiar sight: John Cena celebrating as he became the WWE world heavyweight champion. Cena outlasted seven other men to achieve his goal this time. The match was actually fairly brutal, even for a ladder match. Randy Orton took a shot to the top of his head early in the match which ripped open a cut. By the end of the match, the blood was freely running down his face. While it wasn't a true Crimson Mask, it was as close to one as we've seen in quite a while in the WWE. There was also a fantastic spot where a ladder was forced through the rungs of another ladder, which led the ladder to be tilted without falling and caused Sheamus and Cesaro to have to climb around to stay up. It was a very cool visual spot that, to my knowledge, had never been done before.

The question of what to do with the world heavyweight title has been hanging over the WWE since Daniel Bryan announced two weeks ago that he needed surgery. While it seemed like there might be a resolution on Raw, the decision on the belt was postponed, and the lack of a title feud had a ripple effect over the entire show. The previous week, Stephanie McMahon said that Bryan needed to surrender the title on Raw this week. And yes, he did show up. He said that his injury was worse than expected (which I believe is a work, and was just used to get a reaction from the crowd)

Hardcore wrestling fans, rejoice. With the entire WWE locker room watching, John Cena, given the option to choose his Summerslam opponent by Raw GM Brad Maddox, ultimately decided on Daniel Bryan, who emphatically replied "Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes," and was applauded by a raucous Brooklyn audience who couldn't be happier with this decision. So now we gear up for John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan for the WWE title at Summerslam, which no doubt will be a classic encounter between the most popular superstar on the roster right now (Bryan)

There are still many unanswered questions following Raw, 24 hours removed from the Survivor Series pay-per-view event. Once again, the 3 NXT alums dressed in black attacked Ryback and put him through a table, with no explanation of who, what or why. At this point, building intrigue through mystery is a great strategy, which is why I'm looking forward to the eventual "explanation" even more. CM Punk celebrated one full fiscal year as WWE champion with great work on the microphone. It was preceded with a mini "pipe bomb" by Paul Heyman, who called out members of the WWE Universe who criticized his and CM Punk's mocking of Jerry Lawler's heart attack, essentially saying that the same fans who clamor for the "good ol' days" of the Attitude Era, complain and are offended when an event that was inspired by that era is seen in WWE today.

At the end of an entertaining Extreme Rules pay-per-view, Daniel Bryan retained his title in a main event that brought many wrestling fans back to the Attitude era. The match, an extreme rules match, featured savage beatdowns with chairs, kendo sticks and other weapons, a brawl that went through the backstage area to the parking garage, cars being destroyed, a forklift being employed, and finally, a flaming table that Kane went through. It was the kind of violence in a match that, for the most part, had been toned down over the past decade.

On the go-home RAW before Sunday's Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, it was a man who didn't even win his match that truly shined. Cesaro (yes, the Antonio is gone, erased by the WWE) had an opportunity to face John Cena on Monday night, as the competitors in the Elimination Chamber all faced each other in singles matches. Cena ended up coming out on top, but Cesaro was placed on even-footing with Cena throughout the match, and the ending even felt, dare I say it, flukey. Over the past few months, Cesaro has quietly been looking stronger.
