George W. Tittle, a mortician and retired employment counselor, died of a heart attack Monday at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. He was 69. Mr. Tittle, who was born and raised in Jarrettsville, graduated in 1953 from the former Central Consolidated High School in Hickory. He was a 1955 graduate of Echols College of Mortuary Science in Philadelphia, and established Tittle's Funeral Service in Bel Air in 1965. After closing the funeral establishment in the early 1980s, he continued working as a mortician and was associated with the Joseph N. Zannino Jr. Funeral Home in Baltimore.

A 21-year-old construction worker was injured Thursday when strong winds pushed a portion of a wall on him at the North Bend Elementary School being built near Jarrettsville.Tony Logan, of Havre de Grace, was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center at University Hospital in Baltimore.Logan, who received head and back injuries, was released Friday, a hospital spokesman said.Benjamin Kurtz, chief of the Jarrettsville Volunteer Fire Co., said Logan was standing on the ground when a 10-foot-high section of the wall fell on him shortly after noon.
