PASADENA IS FINALLY beginning to emerge from winter hibernation. We've got Broadway shows, Shakespeare, dinners, roasts and events coming out of the woodwork.St. Jane Frances School in Riviera Beach will present a "Broadway Musical Revue" at 8 p.m. tonight in the parish hall.More than 60 students from the school chorus, under the direction of music teacher Charles Alexander, will sing hit songs from Broadway musicals, such as "Cats," "Godspell," "Evita," "Oklahoma," and "The Sound of Music."

Jane Frances Geipe, who co-owned a moving and storage business, died of congestive heart failure March 31 at her Glyndon home. She was 80. Born Jane Frances Sturm in Baltimore and raised on Fulton Avenue, she was a graduate of the old St. Martin's High School and attended the old St. Joseph's College in Emmitsburg, where she was later active in alumnae work. After raising her family, she sold residential properties for Schuster Realty and Ensor Realty in Baltimore County. In 1977, she joined other family members to found Easy Movers of Glyndon.

Lauren Velten, a student at St. Jane Frances Elementary School, was the sixth-grade winner of the Martin Luther King Jr. Essay Contest sponsored by the YWCA of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County.She read her essay, describing what Dr. King would tell her class if he were alive today, during an awards ceremony Feb. 23 at the Severna Park Library."He would probably be disappointed with today's world because he believed no man is free until all men are free and today there are still people enslaved by prejudice," Lauren wrote.

ST. JANE FRANCES school in Riviera Beach will celebrate Catholic Schools Week next week with a packed calendar of events. The theme is "Keep Faith in Your Child's Future," the school motto.The Home School Association gets a head start on the activities with a roller-skating party for students and their families from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow at Pasadena Skating Rink.School families are invited to attend the 9 a.m. Mass Sunday at St. Jane Frances Roman Catholic Church for the formal beginning of the week's activities and to honor the winners of the Audrey Smith Memorial award for volunteers of the year.

St. Jane Frances School in Riviera Beach will be celebrating Catholic Schools Week next week with activities and events highlighting this year's theme, "A School You Can Believe In."A 9:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday for school families will begin the celebration. An awards ceremony will follow the liturgy.This year, the Knights of Columbus Council 10966 will present commemorative plaques to several religious and lay teachers, and staff members of the school."After many years of close association with St. Jane Frances parish and school, our council decided to honor teachers and staff with at least 15 years of service to Catholic schools," said George Markelonis, council spokesman.

ST. JANE FRANCES School in Riviera Beach will close out its celebration of Catholic Schools Week at 6: 30 tonight with a family bingo night sponsored by the Home School Association.The week has been packed with activities to spotlight the efforts of the students, parents, teachers and administration, said Rene Hammond, assistant principal.Monday, the school dedicated its technology network system. Ronald Valenti, superintendent of Catholic schools for the Archdiocese of Baltimore, and Nancy Gilroy, assistant superintendent, joined visitors, staff members and local business donors for the ceremony, during which 26 computers were added to the school's network.
