Jameel McClain has achieved much in his four-year career, making the Ravens as an undrafted rookie in 2008 and becoming a full-time starter at inside linebacker last season. But until his six-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the first quarter of Sunday night's 34-17 victory over the New York Jets, McClain hadn't visited the end zone since his playing days at Syracuse University. “Basically, on the play, [cornerback] Lardarius [Webb] had the opportunity to grab it, but he bobbled it, and me being a great teammate, I helped him out,” said McClain, who established a franchise record in 2008 with two safeties in a single season.

With Sunday's AFC divisional contest against the Houston Texans looming, the Ravens added a pair of starters to Thursday's injury report. Right guard Marshal Yanda, who is dealing with rib and thigh bruises, fully participated in Thursday's practice. Inside linebacker Jameel McClain, who suffered a sprained left knee in the team's regular-season finale on Jan. 1, was limited. McClain joined fellow inside linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo (sprained right quadriceps) as being limited.

Growing up in Philadelphia as an aspiring amateur boxer, Ravens linebacker Jameel McClain found a mentor in the city's boxing champion, “ Smokin” Joe Frazier . McClain, who was 6-1 as a boxer while competing in area Golden Gloves tournaments, was given his first pair of boxing trunks by Frazier. That's why Monday's news that Frazier had died at age 67 after a short bout with liver cancer hit McClain hard. “It's bad news for the world, but [especially] for Philly,” McClain said.

Ravens linebacker Jameel McClain is getting used to calling the plays in the huddle in Ray Lewis' absence, but what's it like for his teammates to hear his voice and not Ray's? CSN Baltimore's Brent Harris asked McClain . “I hope they think my voice is sexy, like the ladies do,” McClain said. “But yeah, just get the call in, man. We understand that. We are all going to be professional. We are all going to be there for each other. Hopefully, they count on my voice. I'm going to give them a little Barry White if I get a chance again.” Let's hope the NFL's microphones catch McClain singing “Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe” in the huddle Sunday at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

The Ravens made a roster move after their final walk-through practice before tomorrow's playoff game against the Houston Texans, signing linebacker Josh Bynes from their practice squad to their 53-man roster, and waiving offensive tackle D.J. Jones. Bynes, who was originally signed by the team last July as an undrafted free agent out of Auburn, was on the Ravens' active roster for their game against the San Francisco 49ers on Nov. 24. He was let go six days later when the Ravens claimed former New York Jets safety Emanuel Cook off waivers.

One of the main reasons for the Ravens' success this season has been their ability to replace injured starters, including Pro Bowl inside linebacker Ray Lewis and second year-cornerback Jimmy Smith. When Lewis went down, the Ravens replaced him with Jameel McClain, who moved from the weak side to the inside position. It took McClain a while to adjust, but he has become a plugger inside. He's more physical than Lewis was at the start of the season when he had dropped 17-to-20 pounds.

Michael McAdoo was slated to participate in Lardarius Webb 's charity softball game Sunday, but his absence was understood after he reportedly tore his Achilles tendon during an Organized Team Activity on Thursday. He is expected to miss the upcoming season. Webb, who tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in his rookie year, said the news of McAdoo's injury was stunning. "I talked to him the other day when I first found out. It was shocking," Webb said.
