A man was found fatally shot in a car in Annapolis on Sunday afternoon, a case detectives were investigating as a homicide, Annapolis police said. The man was shot in the 200 block of Victor Parkway in the parking lot of a condominium complex, police spokeswoman Detective Amy Miguez said. The shooting was reported about 4:30 p.m. Police on Monday identified the man as John Donnel Ray, 32, of the 4600 block of Rolling Hill Road in Huntingtown in Calvert County. Anyone with information about the homicide may call Detective Charles Bealefeld at 443-986-5561.

Baltimore police were investigating two shootings reported Saturday evening. At 5:18 p.m. officers responded to the 1000 block of Ellicott Dr. and found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg, said Sgt. J. Eric Kowalczyk. The victim was transported to an area hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 410-396-2488. Police later received a report of a man who walked into a hospital suffering from a gunshot wound.

A running gun battle that broke out late Thursday night between Baltimore police and a suspect after a domestic incident in Canton left one man dead, two women shot and a quiet Southeast Baltimore street rattled. Police worked Friday to unravel the circumstances surrounding the overnight incident. It was the year's eighth officer-involved shooting and the second in which a suspect died. Officers responded to call about a disturbance at a house in the 3400 block of Foster Ave. just before midnight.

A man was shot in the leg in the 2700 block of The Alameda in Northeast Baltimore on Sunday evening, an incident that was not expected to be fatal, police said. Medical personnel responded and took the man to a local hospital, police said. The shooting happened after 7 p.m., police said. They had not identified a suspect or motive as of late Sunday. Anyone with information about the shooting may call Northeast District detectives at 410-396-2444. The incident followed two other nonfatal shootings Sunday in the city.

Baltimore City Police say a man was shot early Sunday morning in the 3100 block of Erdman Avenue. The incident occurred at about 4:15 a.m., according to police reports. According to the report, the victim, 36, was shot in the chest, then ran from the scene and transported himself to an area hospital. Police had no suspect description, and there was no motive immediately known, police said. Staff Reports

I don't know how to answer Michael Hanchard's questions, but I understand why he asks them: "If we were a middle-aged white couple, rather than a black couple, and if the group of people who surrounded us were black or Latino, rather than white, would the attackers have been treated with impunity? "Would police officers have told a middle-aged white couple there was no way to determine whether they had been … assaulted?" Before you go thinking that Michael Hanchard is a black man who plays the race card first and asks questions later, consider that the 53-year-old professor of political science at the Johns Hopkins University waited a year to speak about this.

A Parkville man allegedly seen carrying an antique firearm on an elementary school's property Monday afternoon has been charged with possessing a dangerous weapon on school grounds, according to Baltimore County Police. Robert Cleary, 30, walked across Villa Cresta Elementary School property on the 2600 block of Radar Avenue with a Civil War-era rifle at approximately 3:30 p.m. as students were being dismissed, police said. Investigators determined he was meeting a friend at the intersection of Ardmore Avenue and Radar Avenue to sell the weapon at a nearby pawn shop, where it was later recovered.

Two people are facing attempted second-degree murder charges stemming from two unrelated stabbings on Monday, according to Anne Arundel County police. Police said a man looking for his roommate to drive him home from work Monday became "enraged" to find the roommate at a Crownsville apartment and, after threatening to stab him, threw a hunting knife at him twice, missing both times. Police arrived around 5:45 p.m. and said the victim, 40, had a small cut. Charged was Jeremy Earl Johnson, 38, of the 1500 block of Crownsville Road, police said.
