Immaculate Heart

The Rev. Joseph L. McManus, the retired pastor of a Loch Raven Village Roman Catholic church and a Towson University chaplain, died of heart disease Saturday at Stella Maris Hospice. He was 76. Born in Baltimore and raised in Mount Washington, he attended the Shrine of the Sacred Heart Parochial School and was a 1948 Loyola High School graduate. Father McManus, who attended Loyola College and received his religious education at St. Mary's Seminary, was ordained in 1956. He became an associate pastor at Immaculate Conception Church in Towson and remained there until 1977, when he was named chaplain at the Towson University Newman House.

On December 20, 2009 VINCENT LOMBARDI, SR. beloved husband of Peggy Lombardi (nee Collins); loving father of Vincent Lombardi, Jr. and Tony Knott; loving grandfather of April and Freddie Knott; loving great-grandfather of Brendan and Logan Knott; devoted cousin of Vince Drecchio and Maryann. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service honoring Vincent's life will be at Immaculate Heart, 8501 Loch Raven Blvd. on January 9, 2010 at 11 am.

Albert E. Daisley, 64, a former Baltimore County police officer and state insurance investigator, died Thursday at Good Samaritan Hospital after a long illness.A memorial mass was being celebrated today at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 8500 Loch Raven Blvd.Survivors include his wife, the former Norma Yob; a daughter, Kristine Daisley of Baltimore; a son, Joseph Daisley of Baltimore; a brother, Thomas Daisley of Greenville, S.C.; a sister, Marion Powell of Ocean View, Del.; and his aunt, Elsie Dene Lieder of Baltimore.

Dr. Joseph LiPira, who worked as a physician in the Towson area for almost 50 years, died of congestive heart failure Wednesday at the Gilchrest Hospice in Towson. He was 85. Dr. LiPira was born and raised in Baltimore to a father who had emigrated from Italy and worked as a barber and a mother who worked as a homemaker. He graduated from City College in 1941. He received his bachelor's degree in 1945 from the University of Maryland and earned his medical degree from the school two years later.

After a long, brave battle RONALD CHARLES AMEREIHN, left us on July 18, 2008. He is survived by his devoted wife of 26 years, Judi, his mother Jane, his sisters Joy and Dawn, and one daughter, Sheila. Ron was also a gentle and kind uncle to Kelly, Greg, Molly, Shelby, Natalie, Brigid, Brooke, and Brittany. Additionally, he will be missed by his mother-in-law Doris, and family; Deborah, Bruce, Karen, Pete, Jan, and Mike.
