Brent Berwager is director of corporate relations for the International Visitors Center of Maryland. In off hours and weekends he enjoys hunting for antiques, especially French country furniture. He also has a collection of 1939 World's Fair memorabilia. How would you describe your taste in clothing?I favor European clothes, particularly British-inspired tailoring. I tend to a double-breasted, Burberry sort of look. I enjoy putting different pieces together which some people would not even consider, often mixing something conservative with something loud.

Cynthia Hunt claims she doesn't have a specific style. "I wear what feels right. I just put it on, and if I like it, I wear it." We certainly liked what she wore when we "glimpsed" the 48-year-old Elkins Park, Pa., resident as she was strolling through the Gallery at Harborplace with her husband and daughter. The Temple University nurse-anesthetist says she worries about dressing too young. But she has a secret weapon for that. The look: Long black cotton knit empire waist Mon Ami dress.

Loren F. Miles Jr. -- tuba player, jazz trumpeter, president of the Western/Polytechnic Institute high school band, and a stylin' senior -- is getting ready for not one, but two proms, City College and Poly. And he'll be dressed differently for both. For the City prom, his date has requested a tuxedo. At Poly, he'll probably have on something black and silver, school colors, in a sharp suit. This, Loren, 17, knows for sure, his dates are "gonna look good but I can't let nobody one-up me."By working two jobs -- telemarketing at MBNA and at Vernon's Menswear in Security Square Mall -- Loren has put together an impressive wardrobe.

Lauren Schott is a jeweler as intrigued by craft as design. Her wardrobe and home reflect a fascination with the way things are made. For Schott, the last, a form used for making shoes, is as much an object of beauty as the knee-high, black Lucchese, cowboy boots that rest on their own shelf above her dresser.Schott once apprenticed to a cobbler, and the experience led to insights in her jewelry work. For one thing, "My color palette has changed from multi-colored stones to more muted grays, blacks and greens," she says.

There's a reason why Marie Long is dressed in purple, almost from head to toe, and it has nothing to do with the Ravens. The retired social worker from Southwest Baltimore says that dressing monochromatically makes her look taller. She chose this particular vibrant color to attend the Morgan State University Alumni Association's "Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Breakfast" at Martin's West. While she has fun putting together her one-color outfits, Long says, she's careful not to let her fashion define her. Self-described style: : "Eclectic" The look: : Purple wool boucle suit.
