E. Edward Houghton, a prominent thoroughbred horse breeder and fox hunter, died Sunday of pulmonary fibrosis at Buckingham Farm, his Chestertown home. He was 67. Mr. Houghton was born in Somerville, N.J., and raised in Colorado and Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of Conestoga High School in Berwyn, Pa., and earned a bachelor's degree in agriculture from Pennsylvania State University. Mr. Houghton was farm manager at Happy Hill Farm, a thoroughbred breeding farm in Newtown Square, Pa., from 1960 to 1964.

On Tuesday, March 6, 2007 MILDRED A. HOUGHTON, 85, of Fairfield, PA (formerly of Glen Burnie, MD) died at The Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, MD. Born December 16, 1921 in Shamokin, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Hazel (McClain) Miller, and wife of William L. Houghton who died in 1990. Mrs. Houghton served with The Social Security Administration in Baltimore for 30 years. She was a Volunteer Coordinator with The Gettysburg Hospital for many years and attended Grace Bible Church in Fairfield, PA. She is survived by daughter, Carol J. Morton, El Paso, Texas, six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two sister's, Dorothy Wolf of Winchester, VA, and Ruby Miller of Baltimore, MD. Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 9, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. at Grace Bible Church, 2430 Tract Road, Fairfield, PA with the Rev. Carleton Burrows, officiating.

Wife of the late Paul V. Renoff, mother of Ronald H. Renoff, Lois R. Brockett and Cyndy Renoff, grandmother of Margaret, Catheryn and Warren Paul Brockett, David and Jordan Houghton Taler and mother-in-law of Joyce Renoff, Ward Brockett and George Taler. Peggy Renoff donated her body to science.
