On Tuesday, October 28, 2003, HELEN "KATHY" HORNEY, age 57, of Sharptown, MD died at Genesis Elder Care, Seaford Center, Seaford, DE. Kathy was a homemaker. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Christian School in Cambridge, MD. She was the beloved wife of John R. Horney, Jr., for 36 years and the devoted mother of John Raymond Horney of Annapolis, MD. She is also survived by two brothers, Michael and Leo Murhpy both of Baltimore. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 31 at 11 A.M. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Stein Hwy, Seaford.

On February 17, 2006 RAYMOND HORNEY SR, devoted father of Virginia May Gray, Donna Coonfield and Nancy and Raymond Horney Jr, also survived by 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 6 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held at the Connelly Funeral Home of Essex, 300 Mace Avenue, on Wednesday at 11 A.M. Visiting hours Monday and Tuesday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. Interment Holly Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc.

Services for Robert E. Horney, founder of a heating oil company and an ice cream company, will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Bruzdzinski Funeral Home, 1407 Eastern Ave., Essex.Mr. Horney, who was 86, died Saturday after a heart attack at his home on Wye Road in Middle River.In 1932, he started the Quality Oil Co., which makes heating oil deliveries in the Essex-Middle River area. He operated the company until he retired about 20 years ago.He also started the Liberty Bell Ice Cream Co., which sold confections from trucks in neighborhoods in the same area for about 20 years in the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s.

MILDRED G. ROTH, 64, of Sharptown, formerly of Trevorton, PA, died Monday, July 25, 2005 at Wicomico Nursing Home in Salisbury. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late John R. Horney, Sr. and Mildred Lewis Horney. She was preceded in death by her husband Roland J. Roth in 2001. She is survived by her brother John R. Horney, Jr. of Sharptown and a nephew John Raymond Horney of Annapolis. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2005 at 10 A.M. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Trevorton, PA. Interment Greenwood cemetery in Trevorton.
