Barbara Carter and Matthew Byrd were married on May 25 at the Havre de Grace Community Center. Carter is the daughter of Alfred and Maggie Carter of New Jersey. Byrd is the son of Joyce Byrd of Havre de Grace and the late Earl Byrd. The newlyweds have a honeymoon planned for later this summer.

Zach Greaver, brother of the groom, was the Best Man, and Megan D'Andrea, best friend of the bride, was the Matron of Honor. After a honeymoon in St. Lucia, the couple resides in Perry Hall, Maryland, with their dog, Max.

Auchincloss of Baltimore, Maryland were married on July 16, 2007 at 5:00 o'clock p.m. at Dickey Memorial Presbyterian Church in Baltimore, Maryland. The wedding ceremony was followed by a reception at The Johns Hopkins Club. After a honeymoon in Key West the couple will reside in Baltimore.

Rick Powell officiated at the ceremony at the Anchor Inn, Pasadena, where a reception followed. Aaron West and Kristin Kuzawinski served as honor attendants. Since returning from a honeymoon stay at Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple is residing in Catonsville.

Imagine marrying the love of your life and winning the lottery a few weeks later. This is exactly what happened to Debby Opper, 51, of Owings Mills, last month. On Dec. 1, Opper married Hassan Manafikhalesi, 58, at a ceremony and reception at Martin's West in Baltimore. And on Dec. 28, she won $250,000 in the Mega Millions prize drawing. "It's been quite a month for us," says Opper. The two met at a singles dance about six years ago. When Manafikhalesi popped the question in October 2012, the couple quickly went to work planning a wedding but hadn't scheduled a lengthy honeymoon because Opper was taking care of her mother, who lived in a nursing home.

She is employed as a Clinical Care Manager for APS Health Care. The groom is the son of Pam and Cargell Holness of Palm Coast, Fla. He is a graduate of the Takoma Academy and the University of Md. and is employed as a Special Ed. teacher at Potomac Ridge Behavioral Health.

The bride chose her daughter Kristi Cirul as maid of honor and her sister Sandy Gischel as bridesmaid. The groom chose his son Brian Pitt as best man, and his brother John Pitt as usher and his nephew, David Pitt, as ring bearer.
