Police now consider the death of a man found in South Baltimore a homicide, after initially labeling it a suspicious death, Baltimore police said Sunday. The man's body was discovered at about 6:30 p.m. Friday in an alley in the 700 block of W. Patapsco Avenue in South Baltimore, police said. No further details were immediately available, said Detective Kevin Brown, a spokesman for the Baltimore City Police Department.

Baltimore County police identified Tuesday a man found dead last week outside his Cockeysville home and said the case was being investigated as a homicide. Officers were called about 4:10 a.m. March 10 to the 10800 block of Williamson Lane, where they found Vicente Perez-Soto, 48, suffering from head trauma. His death was classified as a homicide after an autopsy, police said. Detectives have not identified any suspects or determined a motive. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call police at 410-307-2020 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 866-7-LOCKUP.

A man was fatally shot Wednesday night in Northwest Baltimore, police said. No arrest had been made and the man's name was withheld pending notification of family. The death was the city's 237th homicide, compared to 234 homicides last year. Responding to a report of a shooting in the 3800 block of Oakford Ave. about 9:10 p.m., a city Fire Department ambulance crew found the man lying outside a house and bleeding from gunshot wounds to the head, back and chest. He was taken to Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:55 p.m., police said.

Baltimore police say a man found dead Wednesday morning in Northwest Baltimore was killed from a gunshot wound to the chest, police said. A woman called police at 8:56 a.m. to report a man lying at the side of her house in the 5200 block of Cuthbert Avenue, in the Arlington neighborhood, said Detective Jeremy Silbert, a police spokesman. Officers arrived on the scene and found a deceased man, Silbert said. He was identified as Ramah Reid, 26, of the 5600 block of Winner Ave. Police had no suspects and did not reveal a motive in the homicide.

City police are investigating a homicide in the Evergreen Lawn neighborhood Wednesday night. Officers found a 45-year-old man on the front steps of a home in the 2500 block of Harlem Ave. at about 10:45 p.m. He was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he died at 11:17 p.m. Police have also identified the victim of a shooting Tuesday in the Forest Park area. City detectives have determined that a 48-year-old man who died more than a month ago of unexplained head injuries in the Greenspring neighborhood, was the victim of a homicide. Officers were called to the 2600 block of Quantico Ave. at about 12:30 a.m. July 23 and found Robert Lockett suffering from head injuries, said city police spokesman Donny Moses. Lockett, of the 4200 block of Pimlico Ave., was "combative and incoherent," police said, and was taken to Sinai Hospital, where doctors said his injuries appeared to be consistent with a fall.

City police said they are investigating the death of a 20-month-old girl as a homicide. Officers were called to the 2800 block of Kentucky Ave. in Northeast Baltimore about 2:30 p.m. Saturday for a report of an infant who was not breathing, said spokesman Donny Moses. When medics arrived, the father was attempting to perform CPR on the child, identified as Janaya Wallace. Janaya was pronounced dead at Johns Hopkins Hospital about 3 p.m. Detectives noticed scrapes on her neck, and bruising on her forehead and cheek, Moses said.

City police have made an arrest in the shooting death of a 46-year-old man last month that occurred in Southwest Baltimore, where the department has deployed extra officers to quell recent violence in the district. Keith Holly Jr., also known as "Lil' Ham," 21, was arrested Wednesday in the murder of James Ingram, 46, on Oct. 9. He faces a second-degree murder charge, two assault charges and two weapons counts. The shooting was one of seven shootings that weekend that left five men dead and three injured.

Police made two arrests Monday, one in a homicide almost three years old, and another for a triple shooting this month. Police arrested and charged Vincent Clark, 24, of the 4100 block of Norfolk Ave. with first-degree murder in the December 2007 killing of Richard Lawson, 27, in the 2900 block of Chelsea Terrace in the Windsor Hills neighborhood. Darrell Burrus, 23, of the 2200 block of Round Road was arrested and charged yesterday with attempted murder in a Sept. 6 triple shooting in the 900 block of North Payson St. Police issued a warrant for Burrus' arrest Sept.
