Joe Flacco must have been a strong enough draw Monday night to leave David Letterman wanting more Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl mojo. The "Late Show with David Letterman" Wednesday announced that Ravens coach John Harbaugh will be on Thursday night. Here's the release from CBS: John Harbaugh, head coach of the Super Bowl XLVII champion Baltimore Ravens, will visit the LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN Thursday, Feb. 7 (11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.  John Harbaugh and his younger brother Jim Harbaugh, head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, became the first pair of brothers to serve as head coaches in the NFL back in 2011 and made more headlines this year when they became the first brothers in NFL history to face each other in a Super Bowl, one which quickly became dubbed the “Harbaugh Bowl.”  The Ravens went on to defeat the 49ers Sunday in Super Bowl XLVII by a score of 34-31, giving the Ravens their second championship title in franchise history.

COLLEGE PARK - Mark Turgeon used to drive the identical route to the arena before every home game. The Maryland men's basketball coach would put on his tie at precisely the same time before his team took the floor. When he recruited players, he had a strategy for just where he needed to sit during home visits. Were these merely regimens? Rituals? Somewhere along Turgeon's long and largely successful basketball road, the line between habit and superstition became blurred. That's the way it goes for many college coaches - and especially Turgeon - who are full of attempts to manipulate fortune.

NEW ORLEANS - Ravens coach John Harbaugh rattled off plenty of positives about his running backs coach Wilbert Montgomery on Wednesday morning. Then Harbaugh stopped himself to add one more. "… At one time, he was the fastest human being in the world, did you know that? He was, a long time ago. " Montgomery acknowledges he was a pretty fast guy growing up in Greenville, Miss., in the early 1970s. During his high school days, Montgomery and his brother, Cleotha, clocked 9.3 seconds in the 100-yard dash on cinder rocks instead of the smooth, cushioned track surfaces of today.

In case you hadn't heard, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh and his baby bro, San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh, will become the first brothers to duke it out as dueling head coaches in the Super Bowl. Those two have been peppered with countless questions about each other since earning their trips to New Orleans. But that's nothing compared to being stacked up against each other for five decades. With apologies in advance to John Harbaugh, who as a rule refuses to answer comparison questions, here is a look at how John and Jim measure up in our Tale of the Tape, though I guess winning Sunday's Super Bowl is what really matters.

To New Orleans with love. That's the goal anyway for Baltimoreans planning to gather at the Inner Harbor Monday to send off the Super Bowl XLVII-bound Ravens to the Big Easy to face the San Francisco 49ers this weekend. Fans, team cheerleaders and dignitaries are set to gather on the waterfront by 12:15 p.m. when head coach John Harbaugh and resident superhero Ray Lewis -- among other players and coaches -- arrive. Members of the Ravens 2000 Super Bowl XXXV are also expected to attend.

Each Sunday, Ralph Friedgen flips through the NFL games on television, looking for kids he coached at the University of Maryland. Watching them play now brings him back, maybe to a practice where he pulled one of them aside for one-on-one teaching or to quiet moment away from the field. He thinks about how they've grown. Friedgen, who was forced into retirement following the 2010 season, will have three former players in New Orleans for Sunday's Super Bowl: Vernon Davis, a veteran tight end and star for the San Francisco 49ers; wide receiver Torrey Smith, who has become one of the most exciting playmakers for the Ravens; and his teammate and Baltimore native LaQuan Williams, an important special teams player before being sidelined with a hamstring injury late in the season.

Ravens Pro Bowl outside linebacker Terrell Suggs behaved for most of his time with the media -- until someone asked him about New York Jets coach Rex Ryan's tattoo. Ryan used to be the Ravens defensive line coach and coordinator. Suggs remains close to Ryan. "I probably got something on my ass that ya'll never see that is probably inappropriate," Suggs said. "Who cares? I think you guys blew it way out of proportion. I don't really think it's a big deal. I think everybody should have a certain amount of privacy, even though they are in the public eye, no matter who they are. Even our president deserves a certain amount of privacy.

Randallstown coach Kevin English knows exactly what it takes to win a state title, having won one as a player at Milford Mill in 1992. He continually reinforces to his players that it starts with hard work. This season, the No. 14 Rams are putting in the time and it's shows. They are 14-3 going into Wednesday night's game against Pikesville and have won six straight -- scoring 100 or more points in three of their past five games. On Thursday, Randallstown will take on No. 8 Poly in the opening night of the 17th annual Basketball Academy and will then face No. 6 City on Saturday.   English, also a science teacher at Randallstown, is 77-36 in his five seasons.

The Ravens re-signed Jim Caldwell as their offensive coordinator for next season, but it wasn't based on his production in the playoffs. The Ravens had actually wanted to do a deal with Caldwell about three weeks ago, but both sides agreed to hold off in case a team wanted to interview Caldwell as a head coach. It's a great move by the Ravens because Caldwell is a team player who uses input from other assistant coaches as well as the players. The players feel more accountable because they are involved in the decision making process.
