Friends may call at the family owned Mitchell-Wiedefeld Funeral Home, Inc., 6500 York Road (at Overbrook), on Thursday 7-9 P.M. and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday 10 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park.

Hammond's offense finally caught up with its defense.The Golden Bears had allowed just 24 points in their first four games. Their offense, however, had managed just 38 points.But Hammond (4-1) dominated both sides of the ball against Mount Hebron Saturday. The defense recorded its third shutout, and the offense struck early and often en route to a 38-0 win.Hammond scored touchdowns on its first three possessions and had taken a 22-0 lead after running only five plays.The lone negative on an otherwise impressive performance for Hammond was that it committed 13 penalties for 110 yards.

Also survived by eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, loving brother of William Hammond. Family will receive friends on Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. at HARRY H. WITZKE'S FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 4112 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City. Services will be held on Monday at 10 A.M. at St. John's Episcopal Church, with Interment following at St. John's Cemetery.

One of the area's best-kept secrets in boys basketball has been the stellar play of Hammond point guard Chris Baker. The 5-foot-11 senior has done everything a coach can ask in leading the Golden Bears to a 16-3 mark. More importantly, he has done it with consistency.
