The Chesapeake Bayhawks watched a nine-goal lead dwindle to one in the closing minutes of Saturday night's Major League Lacrosse matchup against Hamilton. The Bayhawks dominated Hamilton for most of the night, but suddenly had no answer for the Nationals' quick counter-attacks, while the Bayhawks' offense was held scoreless in the fourth quarter. But Chesapeake goalie Kip Turner stopped a shot by Joe Walters in the closing seconds and to help the Bayhawks escape with a 16-15 victory before an announced 9,832 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

On Saturday March 4, 2006, HAROLD T. HAMILTON, 81, died at his home. Born November 23, 1924 in Union County, he was a son of the late Lee and Virgie Hamilton. He was preceded in death by son, Russell Lee, brothers, Boyce and Edward Hamilton and great granddaughter, Cynthia Marie. He is survived by his wife, Joan, of the home, sons, Wayne Hamilton of Marshville, NC and Tommy Hamilton of West Hollywood, California; 6 grandchildren Cindy and Angel of Wisconsin, Alicia of Baltimore, MD, Richard of Pennsylvania, Michael and Patricia of Marshville, NC; great grandchild, Johnathon of Wisconsin.

Anita Smith Hamilton, a native Baltimorean who operated interior design and antiques businesses in Naples, Fla., died there April 13, victim of a murder. She was 48.The Glen Burnie High School graduate's marriage at age 16 to Frank Smith of Baltimore ended in divorce eight years later. She met Gerald Hamilton when they were sales persons at Montgomery Ward & Co. and they married in 1968.The couple lived for the past 10 years in Naples, where they at first owned an interior decorating business, making their own fabric designs.
