MACON, Ga. -- Mike D'Andrea pitched eight innings and gave up two hits as the Macon Braves beat the Hagerstown Suns, 2-1, yesterday in a Single-A South Atlantic League game.Macon (13-11) scored in the fourth and fifth innings on RBI singles by Ray Nunez and Miguel Corria to take a 2-0 lead.The Suns (16-8) scored the ninth when Kris Harmes drove in Mariano Dotel.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The Hagerstown Suns and Spartanburg Phillies played three scoreless innings yesterday before rain forced a suspension of play.As a result, the teams will play a doubleheader today starting at 6:05 p.m., with a nine-inning first game and a seven-inning second game.Hagerstown (27-24) is third in the Northern Division of the South Atlantic League, and Spartanburg (19-33) is fifth.

Hagerstown's Steve Renko (3-1) went 5 2/3 shutout innings, giving up five hits.

READING, Pa. -- The Reading Phillies scored seven runs in the opening inning and went on to defeat the Hagerstown Suns, 7-5, in a Double-A Eastern League game last night.The first seven batters for the Phillies (31-33) reached safely in the first. Overall, they sent 12 batters to the plate in the first inning, getting the seven runs on nine hits. The nine hits represented the most allowed in an inning by Hagerstown.

Brad Cornett earned his second save, going 2 1/3 innings, giving up one run and one walk and striking out five.
