A LIST OF popular seafood compiled in the latest issue of Audubon magazine contains a surprise for the Chesapeake region. The two edible varieties in least danger of overfishing and decline, according to the nature magazine's report, are rockfish and crabs. Bluefish, another local staple, is close behind them.Since Maryland clamped down on catching rock and crab in the past decade, those species might still be considered under threat. Indeed, enforcement of catch limits on both species continues.

The Westminster Wolves of the Mason-Dixon Soccer League have picked a good time to start winning one-goal matches.Earlier in the season, it was the Wolves on the short end of a number of one-goal affairs and it appeared their chances of reaching postseason play were remote. But a three-game win streak in the final three weeks of the regular season catapulted them into seventh place and a playoff spot.Sunday, they extended their win streak to four with a come-from-behind5-4, double-overtime upset win over second-seeded Mercersburg, Pa. in the first round of the playoffs.

Nassawango Country Club in Snow Hill is the last in our series of golf courses in the area of Ocean City that are available for visitors to the shore to play. While Snow Hill is not a chip and a putt from Ocean City, it is not an excessively long drive, either. You can probably get there in an easy 45 minutes from downtown Ocean City.Nassawango opened in 1970. It was designed by Russell Roberts and located along the scenic Pocomoke River in Snow Hill. This mature course winds through pine and cypress forests and along a 3-acre lake.

For some reason, I had never ventured into the Harry Little Carry Out Shop just south of Towson on York Road, despite driving by the place who knows how many times. Well, the unassuming little Little's recently got a new sign with a cute, mustachioed chef, and that was good enough for me to finally try a place that has been operating since 1956. Inside there's an open kitchen, a counter and not much else. I was touched to see two carefully taped-up death notices for two of the eatery's former employees, as well as the initials H-L, for Harry Little, inscribed on the enormous vent hood.
